The University of Houston’s Radical DEI Bureaucracy
City Journal ^ | 18 May, 2023 | Christopher F. Rufo

The University of Houston has created a radical DEI bureaucracy that condemns the United States as a “white supremacy system,” castigates Christians for their “religious privilege,” and hosts sexually explicit events such as “Queer Sex After Dark” and “Sex Ed Bingo: Chance to Win a Sex Toy.”

The University of Houston is a public institution that serves more than 46,000 students, approximately 80 percent of whom are racial minorities. But for the leadership, the goal of “diversity” is an ideological, rather than demographic, project.

I have obtained documents through public-records requests that expose the university’s sprawling “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) programming, which has grown in scale and scope since the George Floyd riots in 2020.

According to these materials, the university’s DEI department has adopted the basic narrative of critical race theory, arguing that the United States is a “white supremacy system” that “create[s] advantages for whites” and “disadvantages/oppression for people of color.” In this schema, white heterosexual Christians are endowed with “white privilege,” “heterosexual privilege,” and “religious privilege,” while racial and sexual minorities are victims of “racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia.”

The university promotes a similar narrative on the axis of sexuality. Administrators at the LGBTQ Resource Center and the Women and Gender Resource Center promote the basic tenets of queer theory, which argues that American society is characterized by “heteronormativity” and “cisnormativity,” socially constructed structures of oppression that artificially elevate heterosexual and non-transgender people as the “mythical ‘norm.’” The goal of queer theory is to reduce these forms of normativity and replace them with queer-normative ideals.

Mental disorder-normative goals is what they have.

Good chance for Governor Abbott to catch up to DeSantis on this issue...let’s see if he even tries.

Well it’s Houston, which is in a race with Austin for the bottom.

That said, pretty sure all this is illegal under Texas law.

Company I work for just announced a new DEI initiative. Ugh. Guess it’s time to polish up the resume.

Is there a job board for non-woke, non-covidiot companies?

80%! Seems to be some discrimination in admissions going on there. Houston needs some whites to create a multicultural academic experience.

T post 3 and 4,
Yes why isn’t Texas and all the other red states just legislating this away like Florida. Why doesn’t anybody enforce the law? Anywhere? Grooming, sexually explicit material for children isn’t just a new fad, it is or was illegal Everywhere. Where are the common sense sherriffs arresting these freaks around the country for breaking existing laws, before the dems legalize depravity everywhere they can? Why doesn’t Abbott just shut down the DEI, he is the freaking chief executive of the 2nd largest state. He has some fiduciary responsibility on how the state funds are spent. You can’t force people to have their tax money spent against them. If the shoe was on the other foot. You know darn well, every liberal politician from gov down to dog catcher would be suing out the wazoo just to crush the courts and make all this nonsense too hard to pursue.

“serves more than 46,000 students, approximately 80 percent of whom are racial minorities.”

80% are “minorities” huh?

Besides being idiots, I suspect there is some selection based on race going on at the public university in Houston.

I believe there is some large force driving things right now.

I don’t understand how it’s driving things, but none of this is naturally occurring.

I am glad I graduated from the U of Houston back in the 80s, before they were woke and stopped teaching facts.

It’s a publically funded university. Cut off the funds

Let the commies go find a country they approve of

Consider there are several black colleges around Houston for the student population to spread. But, yeah, you see. Strange there are no designated white colleges.

When Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s son was off to college, she threw a hissy fit whining about there not being an black colleges in Houston. Never mind there she could see a dozen outside her window starting with Prairie View A&M founded right after the Civil War or TX Southern that’s a 100 years old.

My thoughts as well. It’s either demonic forces or alien body invaders. Redundant. Cannot possibly be natural.

That is correct - it is supernaturally occurring. We battle not with flesh and blood, but with spirits and principalities of the air.

TLDR; Jesus wins, they lose.
