Within minutes of being released from police custody for a string of crimes, a man was back out there again
Joshua R McLemore was contacted by police four separate times on Monday and Tuesday.
McLemore was first contacted by police for theft of a backpack at 4:50 a.m. Monday. He was transported to the police station and the backpack was recovered by police and he was released with third-degree theft charges
Within minutes of being released by police, McLemore was reportedly trying to get into someone’s car without permission at 5:40 a.m. in the 200 block of Lottie Street, Murphy said. He also took the phone of this person, according to Murphy.
Police found McLemore at an apartment in the 2100 block of Young Street. He was taken into custody without incident and cited for attempted vehicle prowl first-degree and third-degree theft for taking the victim’s phone.
At 11:24 p.m. that same day, officers responded to two residents at 1200 Whatcom Street who reported McLemore entered each of their apartments. Neither of these residents knew McLemore, and they did not invite him into their apartments.
McLemore was booked for criminal trespass, according to Chief of Corrections Wendy Jones. This is a misdemeanor crime so the jail did not hold him for long
In the morning of May 2, officers responded to a woman screaming she was being attacked at the 700 block of North State Street. The woman said she was outside smoking a cigarette when a man, later identified as McLemore, asked her for a cigarette. When she refused, he shoved her to the ground and punched her in the head at least twice, according to Murphy.
McLemore reportedly got on top of the woman, who in self-defense squeezed his testicles.

Washington state. No surprise
If People start “DYING” when they do this it will stop. If you see this grab a large object swing like Babe Ruth at their head and walk away. Obviously it isn’t a crime.
It’s known as “catch and release” in Canada and it’s becoming a big issue with three levels of government here actively discussing a response. Obviously it is not the fault of police if they catch and the “injustice” system releases. What happened to three strikes and you’re out? Was that only for violent offenders. This guy sounds like a violent offender at least now if not before.
I think maybe the solution to this on a large scale is to set aside desolate areas where these repeat offenders can live a self-maintaining lifestyle in a fenced off area where the only other people present are law enforcement and correctional officers. Then they can prey on each other and leave the rest of us alone.
On the other side of the border but not far from Bellingham, I recall one occasion where the police said that 75% or more of the reported thefts in their jurisdiction were from just ten repeat offenders. Some people are beyond rehabilitation but what’s needed is a low cost solution and exile to spartan conditions in the middle of nowhere would seem to qualify. If it was a nasty, forlorn existence, that might be a deterrent and I can’t say that I feel much sympathy for people who keep committing serious offences.

who in self-defense squeezed his testicles. And that was the end of his crime spree for a while.
No it won’t. You think they care about killers here? It’s all about equity.
If there is no punishment, there is no incentive to obey the law.
Yep, we need to provide some “negative reinforcement” when people won’t behave themselves, up to and including a “final vaccination” or “high-velocity lead injection”.
