The bodies of eight people were found dumped in the Mexican resort of Cancun, one of the country’s most popular tourism destinations, authorities said Tuesday.
The bodies were discovered over the weekend about 10 miles from Cancun’s beach and hotel zone after police launched a coordinated effort to search for missing people in wooded lots and even sinkhole ponds, also known as cenotes, Mexican authorities said.
Oscar Montes de Oca, the head prosecutor of the Caribbean coast state of Quintana Roo, said five of the bodies were found at an abandoned construction site.
Three were subsequently identified as previously reported missing people.
Three sets of skeletal remains were discovered at a separate site in a wooded area on the outskirts of Cancun near a poor neighborhood, close to the resort’s airport, authorities said.

Chicago?
I hope they were found soon after, so they don’t get billed for extra nights.
I went to Cancun some 35+ years ago. Didn’t like it but it was a free trip, so took advantage of that aspect. Even back then, I wasn’t comfortable there. Oh yeah, and ate or drank something that didn’t agree with me (putting it nicely). I was sick for 3 days of the weeklong trip. Got better just in time to fly home.
Mexico has always been a despot sh*thole country and if you check out the new world conquest of the Spanish, all of the countries they created and once controlled have become despot sh*tholes.
All of the countries that England created and once controlled, have become fairly decent and democratic countries.
Thank god for England.
Spaniards and their offspring just love to kill in some of the most gruesome and cruel ways. I guess those inquisitions may have something to do with it.
The English were superb colonizers, the Spanish not so much.
A dysfunctional culture subjugating and colonizing another dysfunctional culture begets a dysfunctional culture.
When I was 10, my grandmother drove the two of us from south GA to Mexico City and back in her ‘67 Plymouth Fury. Hours and days through isolated desert, with the odd adobe hut every hour or so. An impending bend in the road became a rare distraction. All at 45 miles per hour. I would have serious doubts about attempting that same trip today.
I would add that Aztec heritage influenced Mexican murder culture.
Reason #27 why I never have, and never will, set foot in Mexico.
Eh, I’ve been a bunch of times, mostly Cozumel and Costa Maya. Much safer and friendlier than the Caribbean islands and other Latin American countries imo.
there is nothing, NOTHING, in mexco worth yer life...
Puerto Escondido
