BYRDSTOWN, Tenn. (WZTV) — After an eaglet was seen entangled in a fishing line at a reservoir on the Kentucky-Tennessee line, rescue is on the way.
The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) was made aware of the eaglets in distress Saturday by FOX 17 News, and multiple agencies have planned an intervention.
Due to federal laws preventing disturbance of eaglets in their nest, any attempt to help the eaglets must have federal permitting to occur, which a TWRA spokesperson confirmed has happened.
A professional tree climber and arborist will now work to remove the fishing line and evaluate the condition of both eaglets.

I love watching the live bald eagle cams on YouTube.
The lives of these birds is extremely interesting to many.
They have lots of followers.
I NEVER put articles in breaking news, because I am aware of the rules. But this article IS breaking news to the people who have been following this story like a soap opera for weeks, and wonder why they shut off the web cam.

In our world of sin sick crazies, and almost always bad news every day, these majestic eagles are a refreshing break for me!!!
Yes, even when a nest fails, eggs don’t hatch and fish strings get in the way!

I just heard that they removed the fishing line and brought the younger bird down for rehabilitation.
thank goodness - and the good efforts of the American Eagle Foundation and Army Corps of Engineers and the tree climber. apparently 2 were fine but the small one suffered wounds which necessitated removing to nearby veterinary hospital. hopefully that will end well. job well done by those who kept this from becoming a tragedy.
I’ve been following the Dale Hollow eagles since they put a cam up on their nest. There have been some good years and some bad ones but this has been the worst. Obey, the dad, run off by intruding male eagles, the loss of the youngest eaglet, and now the fishing line. But River, the mom, has been amazing in taking care of her remaining two eaglets on her own. I hope they’re able to return DH18 to the nest so she can watch both of her offspring fledge and teach them the ways of survival. Two more young eagles to soar through the skies over Dale Hollow.
Watching them helped me get through the unexpected death of my husband. The eagles took my mind off my problems.
