Austin, Texas residents are expressing growing concern about a potential serial killer after an eighth body was found in Lady Bird Lake.
Lady Bird Lake in Austin. Facebook Lady Bird Lake in Austin. Facebook © Knewz John Christopher Hays-Clark, aged 30, was discovered dead in the lake on April 15, followed by 33-year-old Jonathan Honey on April 1, 40-year-old Cliff Axtell on March 5, and 30-year-old Jason John on February 13.
Additionally, four other males were found in the last ten months. The authorities have not confirmed whether any of the deaths are connected or the result of foul play. Despite this, residents fear the worst and have set up Facebook groups and taken to TikTok to voice their growing concerns that the deaths may be linked.
As a testimony to the community’s fears, the Facebook group called Lady Bird Lake Serial Killer has already garnered more than 50,000 followers.
While autopsies for the recent deaths are not yet available, the police have stated that the bodies show no signs of trauma.
According to the authorities, the circumstances behind their deaths vary, but each one of the men had consumed alcohol and had been within relatively easy reach of the lake before they ended up in it.

Probably not a serial killer, but it is pretty common for people (often guys) to get drugged and robbed while drinking in Austin. Girl will offer a drink or shot spiked with scopolamine or GHB or Rohypnol. Guy, thinking with his second brain, takes drink from stranger, starts to lose his senses and is led to a car, then to the ATM, then to their home where they are thoroughly robbed, including bank transfers. I’d guess some guys notice themselves losing control and try to get out of the situation, and end up falling in the lake (or possibly pushed by an accomplice). So more like serial robberies with murderous side effects.
We had a Diver that cleared away a 20' diameter area around the Intake of the Duck Weed that is everywhere in that lake which is the continuation of the Lower Colorado River/Highland Lakes chain
