Just about all of the homes along Town Lake draw their water from it. Several decades ago I helped re-plumb the Intake Screen Cage and pump at one of the mega hair care product creators and marketers. The Water Treatment and Conditioner Room was the size of a 2 car garage. 3 Gravel and Sand Filters inline each one 500 gallon capacity as were the 2 Softener Tanks plus Charcoal Filters to do taste and odor control, with Cl2 Injection to disinfect that NASTY water.

We had a Diver that cleared away a 20' diameter area around the Intake of the Duck Weed that is everywhere in that lake which is the continuation of the Lower Colorado River/Highland Lakes chain
