I Fought the Law · Buddy Holly & The Crickets
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
Always thought it was a Bobby Fuller song from 66.
Watched both videos, Bobby Fuller did have the go-go dancers in 66.
You are dumb.
Wikipedia notes: The song was written in 1958 by Sonny Curtis, and recorded in 1959 when he joined the Crickets, taking the place of Buddy Holly on guitar. The song was included on their 1960 album, In Style with the Crickets, and the following year appeared as the B-side of their single, "A Sweet Love". The song received very little airplay.
It's a good version of the song, for sure!
It’s not a Buddy Holly song.
He’d died before it was released.
I know Buddy songs and you lack understanding.
Simon Peter cut off a Roman slaves ear when they came to arrest Jesus. Talk about 2A...damn sword fights....
Not JUST go-go dancers, but go-go dancers WITH SIX GUNS! One in each hand! Think of the triggering, so to speak, this would cause today.
Ouch. The EQ on those vocals is dreadful and unlistenable. Not necessarily the Crickets fault. Poor production.
I remember the Braniff gals in miniskirts and gogo boots.
Hotness
If I recall, Buddy was producing before the end. They probably lost more than a stave presence. Those early records sound great with just a three piece.
No, you're smart, because Buddy Holly wasn't on this recording.
My parents used to smoke on planes. I gawked at the attendants and tried to look up their skirts. I have been fascinated by the female body since I was 7.
“As soon as we are out, we are kicking our way back in....” ht to uncle tupelo
Note that the Crickets were robbing people with a zip gun (homemade firearm), while Bobby Fuller was robbing people with a six-gun.
This crickets b side. I knew the Bobby Fuller 4 song around the time I graduated HS in 66. Didn’t know the crickets did it. I don’t think Holly was alive when they recorded it
I prefer fighting with Dorothy.
This song is very close to I Fought the Law. Written by Buddy and Sonny Curtis.
