Paraphrasing Third Reich Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels: “If you are going to tell a lie, make it a big one, as no one will believe a small one, and repeat it over and over, because eventually people will come to accept it as the truth.”
For purposes of this offering, however, let us label the careless but “presumptively” non-malicious use of words leading to false or erroneous conclusions and the intentional omission of facts and words to be similar to, but something short of actual “lies.” The current analogous term would be “misinformation.” For now, let us call it the “Goebbels Corollary.”
Turning to the thrust of this post, in the continuing saga of the meaning of the term “natural born Citizen” (“nbC”) in Art. 2, § 1, Cl. 5 of the Constitution – the presidential “Eligibility Clause” – the battle continues to rage over what, exactly, the Founders meant when they carefully selected that restriction. I’ve noticed that lately the government and the elites are telling and repeating more and more obvious lies. The deaths of police officers on January 6 being a big one, but only one among many.
Yes, also denying any and all election fraud.

The English and US has attempted to copy these almost exactly.
Oh, and let's not forget the constant drumbeat of "climate change".
The US propaganda is not as effective as Goebbels because they have failed to successfully follow some basic rules:
—Charismatic leader—Bidet is an obvious fail
—Keep it simple—multiple propaganda threads at the same time confuses the public
What they have been best at:
—Create an enemy and demonize them/it—”Putin”, “white racism”, “the un vaccinated”, “extremism”, “fake news outlets”, “election deniers”, “birthers”, “Trump supporters”, “hate”, “climate deniers”, “conspiracy theorists” etc.
German propaganda was only allowed to focus on two enemies at a time—”Jews” “Communists”. Goebbels intentionally avoided attacking the US and Britain specifically, just talked about them as ruled by “Jews” and “Communists”. That kept focus and avoided confusion.
What Goebbels did correctly and most who copied him have not replicated is how he handled failure/defeat. He did not pretend it was a victory when it was not—instead he either avoided the subject or focused on how the German people would overcome difficulties in the future.
Both Soviet and current Western propagandists tend to just double down on their lying when things go badly. That is a bad idea because more and more folks get personal experience that contradicts the propaganda—which undermines all of the propaganda environment.
If you are going to tell a lie, make it a big one, as no one will believe a small one.
