This is nonsense. Fungus infections have always been a serious threat to people who are severely immunosuppressed. People undergoing very aggressive treatment for leukemia or lymphoma, bone marrow transplants, or have active AIDS are most vulnerable. There are numerous pathogenic fungi but the vast majority of the population is not vulnerable.

I have C. Diff, which is a bacteria that normally coexists with all the other flora in my bowel, unless I take an antibiotic. The antibiotic will kill nearly everything else except for this hardy bacteria, which, without the competition, will run wild, causing diarrhea and flu-like symptoms.
So I need high-level probiotics every time I’m prescribed a Z-pack, because C. Diff is almost impossible to eradicate.
Since the sky is falling we all must wear helmets for 2 weeks to flatten the curve then get a booster helmet every few months for life.

The irony is that you must know the difference between C. Diff effects and the Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction (JHR), or ‘Herxheimer’ reaction (aka ‘herxing’). To state that it’s unpleasant would be an understatement. In short, eradication of a gut pathogen elicits toxic effects which must be modulated to prevent further injury (and/or unpleasantness).
Probiotics are useless in the presence of helminthic (parasitic worms), and/or spirochete (parasitic bacterium) pathogens.
If I eradicated Candida (one primary motivation for my books and, yes, absolutely!), you can eradicate Clostridium difficile (C. Diff). Doctors don’t know jack. C. Diff should be a cakewalk compared to my systemic candidiasis (my 30 years-fungus infected toenails fell off within 12 months of my success; I previously thought athlete’s foot was a hygiene problem/normal), which occurred during the 2-year process.
