Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table, At which he's fed. Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes Are the rule. Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway! Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt. Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he Tries to think. Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries, Tax his tears. Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways To tax his ass. Tax all he has Then let him know That you won't be done Till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers; Then tax him some more, Tax him till He's good and sore. Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in Which he's laid... Put these words Upon his tomb, 'Taxes drove me to my doom...' When he's gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply The inheritance tax. Accounts Receivable Tax Building Permit Tax CDL license Tax Cigarette Tax Corporate Income Tax Dog License Tax Excise Taxes Federal Income Tax Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA) Fishing License Tax Food License Tax Fuel Permit Tax Gasoline Tax (currently 44.75 cents per gallon) Gross Receipts Tax Hunting License Tax Inheritance Tax Inventory Tax IRS Interest Charges IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax) Liquor Tax Luxury Taxes Marriage License Tax Medicare Tax Personal Property Tax Property Tax Real Estate Tax Service Charge Tax Social Security Tax Road Usage Tax Recreational Vehicle Tax Sales Tax School Tax State Income Tax State Unemployment Tax (SUTA) Telephone Federal Excise Tax Telephone Federal Universal Service Fee Tax Telephone Federal, State and Local Surcharge Taxes Telephone Minimum Usage Surcharge Tax Telephone Recurring and Nonrecurring Charges Tax Telephone State and Local Tax Telephone Usage Charge Tax Utility Taxes Vehicle License Registration Tax Vehicle Sales Tax Watercraft Registration Tax Well Permit Tax Workers Compensation Tax STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. What in the heck happened? Can you spell 'politicians?' I hope this goes around THE USA at least 545 times!!! YOU can help it get there!!!

Apparently carriage returns (line breaks) are already being taxed.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP.

I am in a foaming at the mouth outrage over the retirement age change in 1983 by both Republicans and Democrats signed by REAGAN that upped our retirement ages to supposedly help save Social Security. What a farce!!! They have continously misspent money since then.

There are no words in any language to describe how evil human government is. Now, they're spending billions on welfare and billions on the Ukraine and billions on stupid projects while those of us who are elderly and feel VERY poorly drag ourselves to work so THEY can have LONG vacations, stupendous healthcare, fantastic sick leave, wonderful retirement, awesome security, college tuition paid, etc., ad nauseum. They see us literally as SLAVES.

Charley Reese was a friend. Despite an at times fierce writing style and provocative opinions, Charley was soft spoken, with a wry sense of humor. He was a genuine populist conservative before the concept became popular. I am sure that he would have supported Trump and enjoyed his shots at eh Left.

The whole situation has gotten me so disgusted, I’m actively trying to not buy anything I don’t need, not (just) to save money, but in protest. I don’t want to participate anymore. I don’t like the consumerism they encourage, I don’t like the inflation, I don’t like the endless taxes... I don’t want to play ball with these people anymore, and the only way I can think of is to sink to the lowest tax bracket I can survive in, hoard what I can, and sulk.

I’m with you! I hope people start boycotting their state lotteries. Not only does the ticket money support the government but in some states they support the schools. In our state 29% of ticket money goes to the schools. Listed purpose - textbooks. Yeah, right. No accountability. Boycotts work.

Dear "prefect" Lady,

No need to sulk, for you have sketched a fine and revolutionary path to greater liberty. Not buying anything one doesn't need is itself revolutionary, and if we all followed such a fine example, Lefty corporations would teeter. To "sink" to a reasonable life style with the lowest possible taxation paid is sensible, as paying for what one does not need includes paying taxes for what one does not want. Hoarding is saving, which is why some media are trying to discourage it and promote spending. For what one does not need.

Yours is a fine strategy. No need to sulk. Enjoy "survival" when others stress out for their debt and unmanageable life style. Sounds like you have won much. Best regards.

He actually released a few revised versions of it over the years.

The notion that the government knows better than we do how our hard earned money should be spent, it just has to go.

Also seems that they have engineered the tax code so that you can only make so much and will be kept down at the same level no matter how much more you earn as years go by. It doesn’t pay to work hard, save, invest — they’re going to get it all anyway — your IRA, the sale of your home. they’ve got their tentacles into all of it.

Nothing will change until the majority of Americans pull their heads from their asses and start paying attention to what's important. I wouldn't trust government to do anything. It takes hundreds of them to decide to change a light bulb. I should know since I worked in the system for 20 years. It wasn't my first choice but I was 21 years old with a daughter on the way. It doesn't use merit to advance and promotes incompetence at all levels. There are some good people but there are many lazy idiots too
