Personally, I think that’s highly likely.
The whole extended family has been on Vitamin D and zinc since March 2020, with many cases of Covid but none serious - save one, who already had severe degenerative lung disease.

Vitamin D deficiency is very bad for overall health. Certainly some lives would have been saved. Half? Who knows.

I had a coworker who complained about losing her sense of taste and smell after getting it. She was frustrated because it was several months after she was infected and nothing changed. I suggested she try taking Vitamin D and Zinc supplements and she said she'd give it a shot.

Two weeks later she said her sense of smell and taste came back.

That’s interesting. Could have been coincidence though.

It’s not surveyed properly I think, but Vitamin D deficiency could be very widespread. Maybe especially likely among the shut-in elderly.

Getting Covid early on...pushing herd immunity...would have been the best thing...as soon as we knew some stats on kids etc.. We shut people in when we should have gotten them out and about....

I suspect it would have been far more than half.

It’s probably a lot more than half.

My extended family has all been on 125mcg(5000IU) D3 daily for 12-16 years. Most of us got CCP Flu early on in 2020. All of us immediately upon experiencing symptoms took the prescribed megadose of D3 and all but one was done with it in 8-10 hours. My son required more like 24 hours. During the time we have been taking the D3 we have experienced no other instances of flu or colds.

I’ve been taking between 5000 and 10,000 units daily since Jan 2020. Still getting at least one bad cold annually.

I and mine relied on D3 at 900 IU per pound of body weight and all of us shed the malady quickly. We had not yet encountered the information about Zinc. We now all take the D3 and zinc daily and the other “normal” flus that have been going around here have passed us by.

We will never know that actual number. All deaths that fllowed any brush with the coron bug or even many that had no sign of it were classified as COVID deaths for at least a year and a half. The government made it very lucrative for hospitals to pump up their COVID fatality numbers and apparently even knowingly induced fatal medical procedures and refused known curative medicines and treatments to get those numbers up- ventilators and Ivermectin come to mind.

In the Flu epidemic of 1918 it was noted repeatedly that patients who were placed on beds outside on sunny days were more likely to survive.

If I were to get a cold or flu I would take 900 units per pound of body weight all at one time. It is a flu and cold killer and fixes it for me and my relatives and friends in about 8 hours. I was told by my MIL who first introduced me to D3 19 years ago that if that doesn’t do it repeat once. I don’t know anyone who has had to repeat.

My doctor prefers I not get my Vitamin D from supplements, but from the sun, or barring that, a sunlamp.
