Breitbart ^ | Poor

Friday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) indicated his souring on the U.S. involvement in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

The Missouri Republican called on Europe to take on a larger role while the United States handled its domestic challenges, including the aftermath of the East Palestine, OH rail derailment.

It would seem that the previous occupant of the White House said exactly the same things when he was President.

But nahhhh…..He was a bad man for wanting to hold the Europeans accountable. He was a bad man for wanting tariffs in their goods and leveling the playing field.

These same fools did everything they could to obstruct the man.

Tucker Carlson commented that, in his opinion, he doesn’t know of any President who had a better instincts of American foreign policy.

It has been nearly 80 years since the end of WWII. Western Europe’s economy is about the size of the US. If Western Europe will not fund and take care of its own defense today, it never will. The American taxpayer cannot defend “freedom” around the world forever. The maintenance of the military industrial complex of a size to project power globally is now destroying freedom at home. We’ve done more than our duty for Europe. Bring the troops home from around the world and secure our own border.

--- "‘No More Welfare for Europeans — Let the Europeans Take the Lead on Europe’"

Trump was correct with such remarks as the overly expensive new headquarters for the bureaucracy called NATO, and beyond. To disrupt the status quo was considered "dangerous" by all those for whom the status quo was paying them very well indeed.

When we were legal residents of Germany, we met those who were clearly aware that the US was helping support Germany and were unsurprisingly expecting it to go on in perpetuity. Why not? Other people's money is easy to spend, and when other people's money is withdrawn, those who have been enjoying the gravy train get angry and insulted.

The phenomenon is EXACTLY the same here in the states. Gimme. Gimme. Gimme.

Even towards the end of the cold war, that is all that NATO had become. It's about all that most standing militaries become when you don't have a real large scale war against a peer to clear out the dead wood and take your country and economy down to basic essentials, like WWI for Europe and WWII for all of us.

Where is the compassion, man?

Western Europe has been impoverished by a generation or more of socialism than we have.

Is it any wonder that most of the "migrants" want to get into the countries which have been impoverished less by socialism and, thus, have more to loot?

I saw that last night.
I couldn’t agree more. It’s way past time to cut Europe off from our money stream, or at least reduce it substantially.Starting with Ukraine.
And get THE UN OUT OF THE US.

Hawley is still part of the problem; he’s a republican. Republicans love foreign welfare. Hawley will stay republican.

Yours is an interesting comment. One watches the “resolve” of non-US NATO militaries actually avoiding joining the fray of late. Mercenaries, European and American, are being killed in fighting, as another news thread recently reports.

We knew a colonel in the US Army who was NATO-assigned, who saw "dead wood" firsthand. Sadly he is passed now, as time's clock ticks for all us old guys. But his 'witness' was that what you called "dead wood" was piling up in the NATO bureaucracy. What is certain, as is true for all bureaucracies, is that they have a will to survive for sinecures are sinecures. Here and there, the game's the same.

Isn’t it disgusting. As a whole, the UN hates the US. But all those scoundrels love living in NYC.

For most, if not all, of them, their people are eating dirt while they’re living large in NYC. Safe and secure from the plight of their home countries.

Yet another thing that Pres Trump understood.

I actually feel sorry for the people of Ukraine.

We used Ukraine to fight a proxy war against Russia. More than 150,000 Ukrainians are dead, many of which were conscripts that were forced to the frontlines. There country is shrinking. And, it is all the result of our meddling in Ukraine.

I also feel sorry for the average European who is struggling to make ends meet because of the idiotic sanction war we started with Russia.

All this suffering is a result of our foreign policy, one being used to enrich our political elite, their financial backers and the defense industry.

Hawley should recognize the suffering we've caused and have some empathy for the victims in Europe. He needs to put the blame for all this on the Biden regime and neocons within his own party.

They say this is what’s happening in Ukraine, right now.

Exactly to your point. If true, that kid is dead with a few days or however long it takes them to get him on the front lines.

But, of course, so many on here are A-Ok with that, as long as it isn’t their son, nephew, cousin, grandson, godson, neighbors kid.

Go ahead and die Ukrainian kid. Kill the Ruskies!!!
