Don't give this list to anyone in Hollywood. A lot of these movies aren't even truly great.

Can you imagine the dumpster fire t would be if they tried to remake Airplane?

They were unique in their level of offensiveness, but they reflect our level of tolerance for that kind of humour back then.

People are too sensitive today for these same movies to be successful.

In short, the reason funny movies can't be made anymore is:

nothing is funny anymore.

Whew! I said it. Now back to the Kwanzaa tofu dessert I'm making for the Diversity Day potluck dinner at Our Lady of Rainbows Unitarian Church, where I am DI coordinator.

Ours is a radical Unitarian sect, by the way.

Last week we tracked down a suspected constitutionalist and burned a question mark on his front lawn.

I can’t imagine this scene from Police Academy being remade. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yKPgTY637w

Does not surprise me. Few or no good ideas anymore, so just left with reboots. Unfortunately, I can only imagine how they would screw that up. Think “Revenge of the Nerds” where all the nerds are POC trannies, with maybe one White guy thrown in for pure nostalgia.

Too raunchy? Compared to what? The stuff today is just as crappy and worse.

There are plenty of old and very good movies to watch for a lifetime. Hollyweird needs to be put on the shelf or swept into the dust bin of history.

In the pc world of today I can’t believe Blazing Saddles has not simply self-destructed.

Hmmm... why haven’t these been remade/rebooted? Um, let’s see...

10 Gremlins - mediocre
9 Porky’s - garbage
8 Airplane! - stupid but semi-funny... once
7 Crocodile Dundee - stupid but semi-funny... once
6 Honey I Shrunk the Kids - mediocre
5 The Naked Gun - garbage
4 Police Academy - garbage
3 Major League - stupid but semi-funny... once
2 Revenge of the Nerds - outdated concept. The gags about the nerds being really into electronics make little sense if the whole world are hooked on smartphones.
1 Back to the Future Back - mediocre

Even if they tried, there’s no way to translate pre-woke humor into today’s lexicon, as nothing is funny today.

I hope they don’t get any ideas about remaking Blazing Saddles.

(I know, it’s from the 70s)

Imagine the cast for remakes of Ferris Beuller and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Look at how many of these were comedies. We’re not allowed to have comedy anymore. That might hurt somebody’s pwecious widdle feewings so its been ruled strictly Verboten by the Neo Puritans.

A reboot of Back to the Future could be good. Imagine a distant nephew of of Dr. Emmett Brown’s, who is an engineer, cleaning out his hoarding deceased uncle’s lab and finding enough information and drawings to recreate his work, only this time on a Tesla. An aging Marty McFly warns him of the dangers of time travel, etc….

Talk to Elon Musk about it. Tesla doesn’t pay for advertising, but they might love product placement and maybe a cameo by Musk, with a SpaceX tie in.

People who came of age in the last 20 years don’t have a capacity for humor. They were indoctrinated from birth that everything funny is offensive so they don’t have the ability to laugh at themselves or others, that’s why none of these movies could be remade. I feel sorry for today’s younger generation when I watch a group of them at a restaurant or bar, they’re so guarded that they can’t have fun. It’s the same with the many activities that are deemed too dangerous today that kids won’t ever get to experience. For example, having your dad drive a pickup across the family hayfield with a bunch of kids in the back bouncing all over the place and trying to hold on. The Karens would have a fit today and call the cops if they saw that. It was a heck of a lot of fun but fun seems to be outlawed today.

I am glad that Flight of the Navigator won’t be remade, ever.

One of the movies that we can watch with the grandkids and not have to worry about language or inappropriate scenes.

I remember the 1980s. I thoroughly enjoyed the 1980s.

Americans had a sense of humor in the 1980s.

America has been taken over by screeching harridan feminists, race-baiting poverty pimps, bitchy faggots, and assorted other ne’er-do-wells. They’re all filled with bilious hatred, and don’t know how to laugh.

Q: How many feminists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: THAT’S NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!
