Wives of Dead Russian Soldiers Up In Arms As Fur Coat Gifts Taken Back

Fur coats purportedly given to widows of soldiers fighting for Russia in Ukraine as compensation for their deaths were taken back after the women were filmed expressing their gratitude for them, it has been reported.

A video clip widely viewed on Russian social media shows a group of women holding up the garments in the town of Makiivka, in the Russian-occupied Donetsk region of Ukraine.

"Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts…for taking care of us," said one woman before the group said "thank you" in unison.

The man filming the women was reportedly Yevgeny Skripnik, an associate of Igor Girkin, the prominent military blogger who was key to Russia's war effort in the Donbas region in 2014.

Skripnik said in the video "at such moments you feel that we are one family" about the coats, which were reportedly courtesy of the Furs of Yugra company and Girkin's wife Miroslava Reginskaya.

But the Feminist Anti-War Resistance Movement, a Russian group that opposes the Kremlin's invasion of Ukraine, contacted one of the women in the video who said that she and three other women had their fur coats taken away immediately after the recording.

They had initially been told that the fur coats were of poor quality so were promised new ones. However, they were then informed that there had been a mistake and that the garments had been intended for other people, according to a post on the feminist movement's Telegram channel.

The unnamed woman the feminist movement contacted said the group had been invited to make the video in exchange for gifts from Moscow, which was a common practice.

"It often happens that they bring us something from Moscow and shoot videos, and we're always very thankful," she said...

Real fur for fake widows or fake fur for real widows? I guess the most important part is finding out that women can be bought.

If they have to use the word purportedly, how can anyone have any confidence that anything in the story has even a scintilla of truth to it.

I’m guessing there are too many widows and not enough coats. SO, it’s a publicity stunt. They just keep handing out the same coats & taking them back.

Yep, there is no reason to believe that a corrupt totalitarian dictatorship would stage such a blatant propaganda stunt, just no reason whatsoever. /sarc

In America this gift to veteran wives would be siphoned off by some friend of a congressman with no accounting...

You mean like we did claiming that Iraqi soldiers were seen going into a hospital in Kuwait City with guns and going into the room where 15 babies were in incubators. That they took the babies out of the incubators, took the incubators and left the babies on the cold floor to die. They told this tale to justify our going into Kuwait to remove the Iraqis from Kuwait. This was after telling Iraq that we were not concerned about their border dispute. Basically giving them a green light to invade Kuwait.

But my point really was that having to use the word purported (To have or present the often false appearance of being or intending; claim or profess.) indicates to me that they aren't sure if the story of giving the wives of Russians soldiers killed in action fur coats is even true. Meaning they reported that story initially not knowing if it was true or not. Now they are reporting that they have asked for the fur coats back. Both parts of the story sound fishy. Which means if the stories aren't true, then they are propaganda. But you automatically jump to the conclusion that it was Russian propaganda. I don't even have to ask, because I already know that you believed that the Russians blew up Nord Stream 2, even though it would make no sense for them to do so, when all they had to do was shut the valve and stop the flow.

Like me, you have no clue what is true, what is false, or who even started story part 1 or its follow up part 2.

As you can see from my first paragraph, that we are not above making up false stories ourselves. In addition, I see a distinct move towards totalitarianism happening here in our country. Even immigrants who fled totalitarian regimes to come to America to escape it, say they see it too. In fact, this move towards totalitarianism is happening in all of what were once known as free "Democratic" nations who embrace western civilization norms. Now they all embrace the same kind of things that the CCP exacts upon their citizens.

You can be as snarky as you want, but remember when the world breaks out into WWIII, you helped bring that about. Had we worked out where Ukraine agreed to keep the Nazis from attacking the Russian speaking Ukrainians, this whole mess could have been prevented. The Ukrainian people wouldn't have been displaced, their homes wouldn't have been destroyed, their young men wouldn't have been decimated, and the nation of Ukraine would have remained intact.

You really need to start using that gray matter between your ears, because is you keep ignoring it, like every other part of the human body, it will atrophy if not used. Hopefully it's not too late.
