I guess I am old school, but I think the Speaker should be a bit of a parliamentarian. Trump is many things. He is not that.

Anyone can be elected Speaker. They don’t have to be a seated member of Congress. It may seem weird, but that’s is how it is.

Congress is basically a giant pile of loot with thieves all fighting to grab some of it. Having a self made billionaire who actually loves America suddenly in charge of it would be an Earthquake that we could all enjoy. Trump has no need to loot. He already knows he can make it on his own honestly.

Yes. In over 200 years a non member has never been speaker but nothing in the Constitution requires it. I suspect some votes for non members have actually occured if not succeeded.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t want President Trump as Speaker. That would be wonderful. But the chances of it happening are slim to none.
