I think it might be happening in voting.
Example: Because nobody ran against Tim Scott in the primary, I did not vote for him in the general. I do not know if the republican party pays attention to this or not.

It’s already happened. Most MAGA voters I know were totally disaffected Americans who had no faith in the political process before 2016.
It will cost them nothing to go back there after 2024 if Trump is out of the picture.
