With social media's tech tyrants censoring everything using GAB is truly the best platform to have freedom of speech.

Learn how to use Gab's filters in your settings and you control what you see and don't see. The left likes to pose as NAZIs and racists to make GAB look bad (and I'm sure there is a few real ones there too). Just put those words you don't want to see in your filter and you won't have to see those posts/comments.
If you want you can setup a private group for your family to share photos to make it similar to facebook.
While there be sure to join the Freerepublic group.

Many are fake and are leftists trying to destroy the platform. But use filters and then you won’t see them. In fact, I hardly ever see them.

FreeRepublic originally had a forum group on Yahoo where people could go when FR was down, but unfortunately, Yahoo ended their groups section the end of 2020.
Well so far that has worked out rather well for me. Likely it is a bit of sabotage going on there by Leftists or just disruptors, but it has been better for my cruising. I am not into censorship, but as well, I simply do not want to see their BS, Bots or not.
The problem has been alleviated to a significant degree. Thanks.
The FB page was used MAINLY to stay in the loop on occasions when FR was down; I never visited much. Over at Gab, use the “Block” feature as extensively as you need to; it’s a great tool for screening out the vulgar and the profane. I’m far more often on the FR Group at MeWe where the only Nazis you run into are the ones you permit on your feed.

MeWe gives the individual more control over their own Feed than perhaps any other platform out there; it’s FAR less “noisy” than anything else I’ve been on, including FB, Gab, and Parler.
MeWe DOES NOT root through your info to try to suss out “People You May Know,” nor do they use that info to “seed” your Feed with articles they think you’ll react to, nor do they interject ads — your Feed contains your own content, and any that you’ve permitted your Contacts to post. When you elect to add someone as a Contact, you can choose whether they get to see your feed, and you can choose whether to allow their content to appear on your feed. When you join a Group, there are settings for how much Group content you want to see in your feed.

I disagree completely. GAB allows you to set filters on what not to see. Don’t want to see posts with Ni—— in it then put that in your filter.
Also mewe allows extensive porn. So there is a ton of crap out there. Unless you like porn then I’d say mewe is the better platform.

Went to gab, their signup process is embarrassing. Whoever coded it should be kicked in the crouch. I gave up after half a dozen tries.

Recently? Or a long time ago when they were getting slammed with new users and had to build their own server platform as the cloud providers kicked them off because they support free speech.
