I have seen this stuff happen before in the MARINES.
They tell you "DO NOT LOCK YOUR KNEES!"

We had a guy in the Marines, a Cajun from Louisiana, pass out on the parade ground with his M-16 with BAYONET at his side. He fell in that direction and stabbed himself, punctured his lung. Barely missed his heart............

Seriously. For the las couple days we’ve seen these headlines. “Queen’s coffin” this and that.
It is a very peculiar way to refer to a funeral procession. As if the coffin is being shuttled around empty.

The first weeks of cadet training, in the heat, we would see four or five kids drop.
About half of them would wake up and walk off campus, never to be seen again.

This wasn’t one of those guys. They had reps from all the armed forces around outside inner guard who were wearing the Bear Hats. I noticed they were allowed, or were probably customary, to keep their heads bowed...................
