I use Lycos for my web site. So I don’t understand WordPress. Keep up the good work.

I don't know about WordPress in particular. But in general, if you are able to view an image that you uploaded (using the WP interface), you may be able to use your browser to "View Image in New Tab" or similar right-click function, and then look at the address bar for the URL of the image. That URL would be what you use in the < img src="URL" > link.

Normally you do everything inside of Wordpress. You shouldn't need to get into CPanel at all for this.
From your Dashboard, select Add New under the Media heading. This will lead you through uploading your images and give you the links to them.
Hope this helps.

I’m up in Bentonville if you want help.
I know a few web developers in the area.

Yes, images get uploaded within wp-admin?media/add new. Don’t need a path if you’re adding an image to a post. If you’re wanting the path for other reasons, go to media library, click image and the url will be on the right.
Wordpress keep images in wp-content/uploads and usually creates folders for year/month so it would be https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/myimage.jpg
