The whole thing is sad. Nothing sadder than the complete fiasco, incompetence and unnecessary deaths of 13 Americans because this admin doesn’t have a clue.
However, let’s not also forget that the Taliban wasn’t exactly fighting its way back for control of the country. The ANA and ANP were laying down their arms and/or joining the Taliban as they took control of one province after another.
Pres Trump, like Bush and Soetero before him, was told that the ANA/ANP were trained, ready, willing, and able to protect Afghanistan. Ok. So why are we still paying them? They can pay themselves and we no longer have to see billions stolen and wasted on roads that were never built.
Its movements across the country were so fast that “Allie’s”’like Dostum, dropped their stuff and ran.
Billions in American equipment? Or was it all the gear the US gave them over the span of 20 years? When a soldier or Marine leaves a place like Afghanistan or Iraq, they bring the weapon they were assigned back home with them.
What did they estimate? 90% or more of the ones that got on those planes did ZERO to help the US or any other ISAF entity.
And how many are in the wind, going to the nearest radical mosque or madrassa somewhere in America?
From folks I know, all sorts of stuff went on at the military bases they were being housed at. We’ll never know.
Wonder how many US citizens of Afghan descent have been born in U.S. hospitals in the last year, never to leave and family waiting for the ticket over.

Stay under the radar, pay as little taxes as you can, get what’s coming to you, and live where most of the scum get screened out.
