Oklahoma Sooners assistant football coach Cale Gundy has resigned from his position after he used a “shameful” word during a team meeting.
SNIP “I owe it to Sooner Nation to be transparent about what led to this decision: Last week, during a film session, I instructed my players to take notes,” the statement read.
“I noticed a player was distracted and picked up his iPad and read aloud the words that were written on his screen. The words displayed had nothing to do with football. One particular word that I should never — under any circumstance — have uttered was displayed on that screen. In the moment, I did not even realize what I was reading and, as soon as I did, I was horrified.

Must’ve been reading lyrics to a rap song.
Is that the word blacks can use but if a white uses it he loses his job?
Since we’re talking about the Sooners, the shameful word that can’t be said was probably “defense”
It was probably a text from the player’s best friend.
“Hey - we meetin’ up later nigga!?”
Oh good grief. He read aloud from some kid’s iPad, and the kid had the n-word on that iPad. And now this coach is busy groveling. The n-word is offensive to black people when it’s hurled at them as an insult or used to describe them. Simply reading the word aloud with no intention to insult anyone is nothing to apologize for - no one is going to melt away from simply saying or hearing any word.
The player was probably chatting with somebody on his ipad instead of paying attention to the subject of the meeting.
Was a word for “people who annoy you”?
Cale Gundy is a groveling, pansy.
he deserves to lose his job, for apologizing...
Perhaps the player in question was functionally illiterate, couldn’t spell properly, and the coach inadvertently humiliated him.
The article makes we want to throw up. I’d sooner eat a light bulb than engage in such craven mewling

I'm guessing yes, since the article said it had "racial overtones."
With NIL, the inmates are running the asylum. College Football is dead to me.
He put words in his mouthff.
Get a grip people. Modern culture has taught people to be terrified of a word. It's derived from Latin and it means "black". I believe the Spanish still say "Negra" and the word "Negro" is also still used by some people in English.
There is a lot of Pavlov's dog conditioning out there. People freak out when someone says the word and people nowadays equate it to committing a horrible crime.
We have become a silly people.
That’s the word.
amen, horrible role model
