Get a grip people. Modern culture has taught people to be terrified of a word. It's derived from Latin and it means "black". I believe the Spanish still say "Negra" and the word "Negro" is also still used by some people in English.
There is a lot of Pavlov's dog conditioning out there. People freak out when someone says the word and people nowadays equate it to committing a horrible crime.
We have become a silly people.
The word in question is “nigger”. Some of the people to whom the word refers use it regularly. I have no use for the people who use it, and less for the people who whine about its use.
