The first season of Silent Witness aired in 1996.
Emilia Fox has a 3 episode mystery called Signore Vulpe also that is also enjoyable.
I’m on season 20 of the Midsomer Murders.
Wisting from Norway was another I enjoyed.

Forget that foreign stuff. The best cop show, not to mention the best comedy ever was Car 54 Where Are You?

Suburra: Blood on Rome...just a few seasons.
Gangs in modern Rome and the crooked politicians and priests that are owned by them and cover for them.
It’s ugly, bloody, nasty and fascinating.
Much is shot in Rome and supposedly, Ostia.
Enjoyed Signora Volpe...hope they got tapped for more episodes.

It’s Serbian. Maybe they subtitled it in Latinic for Croats who are hearing?
I just knew Croats would never make a show like this.
Looks good. Thanks for sharing this.

“Miss S” on HBOMax. Chinese with English subtitles. A clever show about a brash woman that creates her own detective agency in late 30s Shanghai. It’s well written and funny. She keeps crossing paths with the handsome inspector. The costumes are fabulous.

Was binging the German show “Tatort” a while back.
Interesting variation on a series: the German version of public television has a branch in each state. The production would rotate through the states, meaning there’d be a different detective, scenery, mood, etc. for each.

I have enjoyed Norwegian and Russian shows when I had Netflix.
Someone would do well streaming Scandinavian and Russian shows with the option of English subtitles

Yes. I liked them both. British Television is my preference when it comes to murder investigations. Much different than U.S. based.

Yep, watched Inspector Morse. Enjoyed that one, too.

A run through the small selection of rabbit ear channels on my TV reveals a fascination with crime shows, whether true or not. Might say something about media and society in general.
