I was struck with a memory of the first "Hunger Games" movie.
This memory came while I was wondering about how foolish and corrupt Washington D.C. and the media seem to me. These are actually my people- I'm a multi-degree former Democrat.
I was thinking about how to tell folks in the academic and urban bubble what they look like to folks who live and work where I live and work. Maybe I could help them understand why much of the country is so disgusted by our government and much of media which purports to cover our government.
The movie has the working-class game contestants encountering scene after scene of grotesque displays of abundance. Moving around the banquets and extragance are grotesque, intentionally repulsive, costumed figures. All are living in oblivious enjoyment of their decadence.
Do the people in the white house, congress and the newsrooms understand that we see them that way?
Do they know that we watch the news and see what Katniss Everdeen saw as she entered the Capitol?
Could we show them? If we showed them, could they see?
probably not, but even if they did it wouldn't matter.
Look around they already have
“Could we show them? If we showed them, could they see?”
Reverse that mirror.
They look at The People like peasants, tax-donkeys, slaves and cannon fodder. Grotesque in their un-refined nature.
Easily replaced by a more appreciative wave of bodies, yearning to gather up free-shiite.
This won’t end well this time, just as it never has in the past.
There will be war, and death, and bodies.
And . . we are definitely gonna need more rope.
Tell them to watch the movie, Jaws. It explains the whole problem with elected officials. Their more worried about appearances than solving problems. This is why the public doesn’t trust them.
That movie could be taught as a Masters class in Public Administration in local public government.
Check out this scenario that puts Newsom and Abrams in a P and VP.

It probably is being taught with the shark as an allegory for manmade climate change.
The capital in the Movie reminds me of people living in DC. The news host also reminded me of mainstream media.
“I’m a multi-degree former Democrat.“
Then retreat to quiet repentance. Fix the damage you’ve done. Don’t teach, learn.
We are going to see people freezing to death, and then people starving to death as a result of the Leftist energy policies.
The starving part may come to the USA a little later, though. The freezing part, sooner.
“much of the country is so disgusted by our government and much of media which purports to cover our government”
The exist mainly to cover UP for their libtard buddies in the government
Evening news = libtards good conservatives bad - you don’t even have to turn it on same thing every day of the year
We can hope the vast majority of them are unrepentant socialists who voted for their situation. That would benefit the country greatly.
I believe so.
And I also believe it gives them great pleasure to see others suffer due to the power they yield, and they also enjoy flaunting their ability to have and do things that the average American can't.
My son was twelve when I took him to the first “Hunger Games” movie. I didn’t know what the movie was about, and he had read the books, so I asked him. He said, this is what will happen if things go bad. We used to call the POTUS at the time, “Snowbama.”
Down with the Capital!
If only. Unfortunately, we are likely to go down with them, along with those who fully supported this insanity, and tbought they would be part of the inner party and wouldn’t feel the pain.
Drunk on power.
First, without natural gas, fertilizer is no longer available. That shortage showed up this Spring, and affected this year’s crop, with resulting higher prices.
There is not enough fertilizer to plant winter crops.
There is world wide competition for next year’s fertilizer come February. No matter who ‘wins’, it will not be enough.
Hence all the world-wide farmer protests we aren’t allowed to see thru the screening actions of our media sources.
The well traveled mother of a former employer of mine once said;
“The workers in most other countries we visit don’t have cars or nice houses and they seem perfectly happy. Why can’t OUR workers be like that?”
That’s the mentality of most people in government.
“I’m a multi-degree former Democrat.“
The author shouldnt be proud of either of those resume points.
Had to be pretty dumb to be a D in the first place
Necks in nooses and heads on pikes is the lest our erstwhile masters deserve.
