The midterms are still four months away - but the ad wars have already begun.
Some of the most endangered House Democrats are hoping to inoculate themselves ahead of a potentially brutal November by going up on TV months before the typical end-of-summer ad rush. Nine incumbents in battleground seats were already airing ads by early July, according to a POLITICO analysis - and some plan to keep going straight through to November.
It’s much earlier than House candidates typically start their general election advertising, and it’s a sign of Democrats’ political reality: Republican candidates and big-spending allied super PACs are ready to capitalize on deep economic unease and President Joe Biden’s sagging approval ratings by contesting dozens of blue districts this fall. But the second-quarter campaign finance reports due Friday will show that most battleground Democrats in Congress are flush with cash, and a growing number have responded by unleashing a steady stream of advertising early, seeking to define themselves before the attacks start - and while the airwaves are less expensive or crowded.
“We’ve had a couple of really good quarters. I’m committed to running a campaign that wins,” said Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.), who had $2.4 million banked at the end of March and went on air in late June. “Anybody who’s coming at us, they’re going to be in for a fight. I don’t believe in being timid.”
Nine Democratic incumbents in possible swing seats have aired some 14 broadcast TV ads so far, per data from AdImpact, a media tracking firm. The messages range from positive spots on work the members are doing to lower the gas tax and fund police, a strategy deployed by Reps. Matt Cartwright (D-Pa.) and Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio), to early hits on their GOP opponents, a tactic embraced by...

They don’t have enough money...
It’ll work like their CCPVirus “vaccines”. They’ll still get beaten, but not by as much, and it’ll recur off and on for the rest of their lives.

Trouble is Dan ol’top, the democrats have gone by biblically crazy. What if some dirty unfair sneak challenges you to define a woman? Then what? Danny boy, how much of democrat orthodoxy are you ready to repudiate and, by the way, how much of it did you vote for? (People are getting wise to why gas is so expensive and they know it isn’t the pennies of gas taxes you want to lift after you attacked oil production and drove up the price)
Anyway, Underwood has been running ads all calendar year, even though she was unopposed in the primary. Too much campaign money - of course, if she hired Hunter Biden as a consultant as least it would be spent on hookers and nose candy.
Have you seen the “beware of MAGA” ads they’re running locally?
I just laugh.

I actually avoid commercial TV; either record shows and skip through, or see ads when my wife has the local ABB news or Wheel or Fortune on live. So Underwood must be running a lot of her ads during those shows. I can only imagine what the “Beware of MAGA” thing looks like, but I don’t need to see it.

Why is this freak of nature concerned with Maryland?
Traded up rather a rat than quisling anti Trump republicans
With today’s media landscape, I wonder if TV ads are really all that effective. Hopefully the Democrats are just wasting money.
