Hospital Hostage Hotline
TX State Senator Bob Hall Website ^ | July 11, 2022 | TX State Senator Bob Hall

Posted on 07/11/2022 12:13:24 PM PDT by JeepersFreepers

There was a time when a family faced medical emergencies that they met their personal physician at the hospital emergency room and, together, the doctor and family made critical medical decisions based on the medical opinion of the doctor and the informed decisions of the patient. While radical changes have occurred in the medical field in the past 25 years, the true transformation of health care from a benevolent service to a profit making business truly came into focus in the midst of the COVID pandemic.

Government public health mandates and financial incentives paved the way for hospitals to make a financial bonanza on COVID. Isolating ill patients from their family and caregivers gave medical personal power and control over patients too ill to make medical decisions on their own. Rather than providing informed consent and reasonable alternatives, some medical personnel bullied patients, insisting that they would die if they did not take the medication the doctor prescribed. No alternatives were proffered, even when the prescribed course of action was contraindicated--which also happened to be financially incentivized.

What would you do if you found you or your loved one held hostage by a medical facility? If, like me, you are foolish enough to think you could just go in and check them out, you would be mistaken. Fortunately, Laura Bartlett and team has gotten together a team of people to help if you face this scenario.

The first thing the Hospital Hostage Hotline can do is help you to understand your rights -- the right to know the risks and benefits of the treatment offered; the right to alternative treatments, the right to leave a hospital, the right to advocate for yourself or a loved one.

If you do not have the time or expertise to research all of your options, then know this one thing. A single call to the Hospital Hostage Hotline (888-C19-EMER / 888-219-3637) will get you to the team that can help.

This is not just a Texas problem.

I believe that it is important to keep this Hospital Hostage Hotline number readily available in case it is ever needed during a crisis.

State Senator Bob Hall is, by far, one of the best state senators ever to serve in Texas.

Earlier this year I was in a hospital room. For 18 hours. No bathroom. No water. No food. No medicine. No TV. No service. Just hooked up to a machine.

So I unhooked myself from the machine, pulled out the unused IV line from my arm, got dressed and walked out.

I told the nurses I was going home to go take my medicine and go to sleep. They just said “bye”.

It was 4:30 in the morning.

My girlfriend ran into a crazy hospital problem. She collapsed at work but the hospital finally told her that her problem didn’t fit any of their medical conditions so she had to leave. Unfortunately, her aunt had shown up earlier to take her clothes and she was still partially paralyzed when the hospital told her she had to leave. So a kind fellow employee turned up to take her to his home and let her sleep on his sofa until she could move again. She pinned a note to her locker and put a large note in her purse that she was NEVER to be taken to that hospital again.

They do that in Korean dramas all the time. :)

yeah, first the ER-Doc, then the hospitalist and/or an intensivist, then the specialists and onto the surgerists...

yer PCP plays little part anymore unless they’re owned by the hospital too

hopefully not on to the autopsyist...

Seems like covid brought out the true evil in a lot of people but I think it was more than covid. We’ve unaccountable lawlessness from one political party for 5-6 years now, including stealing a presidential election. They feel emboldened now. No reason for them to keep that dark side we all have in check.

Thank you!

I am going through this “We own your father” BS right now. I am learning what “Hospice” truly means. It does not mean preventing the 20 other non terminal maladies which cause pain and suffering also as compounded like bladder and kidney infections from a Foley. It only means they will ignore everything that comes up and compounds the initial cause of terminal death and only provide Morphine as a cure for it all as a total.

It is designed to promote a faster more painful end. Excepting the Morphine that takes their mind and body from you anyhow. Once on the Morphine, they may as well be dead anyhow...

I am very sorry that your father, you and his loved ones are having to go through this at this difficult time. I am praying for peace and comfort for each of you.

We went through a similar situation with my father-in-law.

Here is another link for a group that does patient advocacy and they have helped get patients out of hospitals doing ‘nothing’ (including no food/water) and to hospitals that will provide decent care (usually a private hospital - big corporate ones are in on the ‘racket’).

http://graithcare.com/

Dr. Ardis has interviewed these folks on his podcast at least twice:

Dr. Ardis’s FIL was killed/murdered in a hospital and he is on a mission to keep it from happening to others.

I met an older woman who’s husband was put into the hospital during covid. After not being able to talk with him or anyone about him, a younger neighbor gal and the woman drove to the place.

They finally were able to see somebody to talk to and they said he was fine and in their isolation ward but they couldn’t visit him or talk to him.

They figured out where the isolation ward was, got in, found the husband starving, wearing a filthy gown covered with poop, urine and vomit. They wheeled him out the back door and to his home where he is doing fine 2 years later.

Health ‘insurance’ is the problem.

The insurance companies add nothing besides overhead and delay.

hospice is not the ending that most people think about....

once on hospice there are certain things that you will not get...

the object is to let you die with pain meds but you must agree that certain things will not be done...

they do not expect you to run to the hospital for medical care at all...they expect you to call them and see if they can come up with a solution...

remember hospice is a GOVT PAID program that they inserted into Medicare and there will be restrictions on what treatment you will get, period...

good news...YOU CAN OPT OUT OF HOSPICE AT ANY TIME.....and in an instant you are back on regular Medicare.

Thank you and it is a mess. They do not like that I am insisting on preventative maintenance for everything other than the terminal cause, they want to compound it and make it more complicated and faster. Once in the system they want to get rid of that “case” as soon as possible. I am not sure how it works, but I suspect they are given a lump sum to provide hospice and all care and supplies come out of that lump sum. So they do their best to keep it short as possible from sign on to check out.

It is all about profits and cutting the overhead. Not a damned thing “comfortable” about it at all. Morphine and checking out as soon as possible is the “comfort” they express repeatedly. And they give you plenty to overdose that “case” right off the bat. You can bet many just do that to rid themselves of the burden and are never questioned.

Not here, we have four medical professionals who started their careers as CNAs and furthered their careers from there as nurses and are now licensed higher than those currently caring for Dad through hospice...

Sorry to hear about your loss, I see you know and understand what I speak of...

We are going to give the crooked system a run for it’s money... :)

Health “insurance” may be part of problem; however, I believe the financial incentives hospitals received from COVID were a driving factor.

Different figures were reported, but clearly it was extremely profitable to diagnose with COVID and put people on Vent and Remdesivir.

There were news accounts of several patients being held hostage in a COVID ward being rescued by their loved ones.

Cherry... He needs it. We need it. He is indeed terminal and as it gets worse it will keep us all from needing to give up our careers to care for him.

But we are back to “government ownership” at this point. 15 years ago we finally talked this tough old man into living “inside” a single wide trailer. Until then he slept outside on a cot in the yard as he has done all his life.

He had a business supplying most of southern Ca and Az with wholesale truck tires. He personally loaded, stacked, and delivered about 400 tires a week living out of his delivery truck.

He finally stopped stacking truck tires in stacks 8 high in his truck at the age of 79 years old. His high school football back injury finally took it’s toll.

All the while he camped in his truck in a bed roll either in the back, underneath, or on top of his truck. Many many times in south central LA to pick up.

Yet now, city weak minds do not believed this ever happened. He and we are liars. So... At his point now we as care takers are guilty of abuse and neglect for the way he lives, wants to live, and we legally have no power to legally change. So a Sheriff’s investigation will be started right off the bat. Even though we have “I want to die at home”.

Not his choice, he has to die by THEIR RULES, not his own...

HE BELONGS TO THE CITY MIND AND LEGAL SYSTEM THAT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND. HE NOW BELONGS TO THE GOVERNMENT AND MEDICAL SYSTEM.

So we have him at my daughter’s house in the city on hospice. And if we take him home to die as he prefers WE will go to jail for abuse and neglect... Because in their minds we should have forced him to live where he DID NOT want to live.

City shit... I hate city crap. It is a culture being forced on us country folks. And THIS is how they do it... Take and disregard 112 years and 6 generations of pioneer tough ass rural country lifestyle they do not have the intestinal fortitude to even try to understand...

Our problems in this nation are City vs Country cultures...
