If you zoom in on the south boundary of that fire line, there is a small blue spot. That is the Schultz tank. The road is known as the Schultz pass road. I did forestry work the past few months on a sale the guy I that work for had. Month and a half ago I did set up work on snowshoes up there. They moved out to another sale 9 to 10 days ago. Still has a couple machines up there that they had not moved out. The fire is most likely named after the Flagstaff water line that runs along the Schultz road to the city.

Nearly the whole area from the city to the top of the peaks will have been burned off the last couple years.

This one is supposed to have been started by a vagabond from LA who burned his toilet paper after taking a dump.

How many acres now, do you know?

Very vicious winds from the southwest.

Very sad.

I think it’s the “pipeline” fire because it sounds like oil or gas.

They had the Museum Fire last year? And the Tunnel Fire this year, and now this one. That whole area at the Peaks have just about all burned off from the City line to the top of the Peaks in the last years.

The job I set up on butted up against the Museum Fire area on the north side.

There wont be even a twig left in much of that area to hold the soil back in case of monsoon rains.

Mother earf is crying out in pain because the eco bastards have shut down virtually ALL FOREST management on public lands.

Now its the Mexican spotted owl. They are restricting all timber sales as a result.

Until the management of the trust is taken away from the federal government and turned back to the local counties this crap will continue. 20% of revenues from Federal timber sales was supposed to go to the local school districts, but since the pr@cks in their comfy little city slicker homes dont care about those types of things, this happens.

Yes.

Sounds like it is paralleling the Tunnel fire from last year.

The area was just starting to come back from the tunnel fire.
Mountain bike trails coming back and now this. It is very beautiful up there and the animals...it is sad.

You are right about the monsoons.

Is this wildfire one of the wildfires the Bureau of Land Management started as a controlled burn that got out of control like in New Mexico?

No I guess it was some vagabond from the state of LA who burned his toilet paper.

At least that is the word I got.

Will see.

BTW, wont have to worry about the Mexican Spotted Owl now will we?

Because of the eco freaks preventing logging of these forests, they burn.

Museum fire.. That was a couple of years ago. (Got my fires mixed up.)

The fire service people said yesterday this one was mimicking the tunnel fire so if that holds maybe it will run out of fuel, but it doesn’t appear to be happening yet.

I am looking for acreage burned if you know please post it.

The guy who started it was arrested yesterday.

Has to be over 5000 by now.

If that SOB gets into the slash piles on the jobs up there it really going to be something.

There was two jobs up there. Ours and another outfit that has done helicopter logging around the area.

Both jobs right at the Schultz Tank.

I dam near died up there a month and a half ago..or so, humping around on my snowshoes setting up landings and running lines. Spend over 7 hours on the shoes doing it. Before that, I hadnt been on those since the mid 90s for that long.
And all the people think that jogging and all is hard exercise? HA! Try snowshoes up and down hills like that for over 7 hours.
