My wife told me a while ago. The first movie I remember seeing him in was
“Field of Dreams”, as Shoeless Joe Jackson. I thought he was brilliant in that movie, his piercing stare is what I remember most.
And of course, “Goodfellas”. A little too violent, but a great ensemble with Liotta, Pesci, and DiNero. Joe Pesci’s character was crazy, and he did a great job.
RIP, tough guy…

Ditto....all three are classics.I wouldn't say the best of all time but they *are* the best Mafia films of all time. And the thing about Goodfellas is that it's based...at least loosely...on real people and real events.
