Georgia election officials dispute film’s voter fraud claims (Ruby Freeman not mentioned)

ATLANTA (AP) - The Republican head of Georgia’s election board said Tuesday a recently released film alleging ballots were illegally collected and dropped off during the 2020 presidential election falsely suggests there were tens of thousands of illegitimate votes in the state.

Still, State Election Board Chairman Matt Mashburn promised a “fair” investigation of its claims.

“It’s not going to be a witch hunt,” he said at a meeting of the board. “It’s going to be done soberly and with great care by people who know what they’re doing.”

The movie, called “2000 Mules,” paints an ominous picture suggesting Democrat-aligned ballot “mules” were supposedly paid to illegally collect and drop off ballots in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. It has been praised by former President Donald Trump as exposing “great election fraud,” but election security experts say it is based on faulty assumptions, anonymous accounts and improper analysis of cellphone location data.

Mashburn, who said he watched the film, said it suggested there were 92,000 “illegitimate, manufactured votes” in the state, but he said that’s not true. Even if a ballot is illegally dropped off, it goes through the same checks as other ballots to ensure the vote is legitimate, he said.

“A ballot harvested vote might be a perfectly legal vote,” he said. “It’s just the manner of its delivery was illegal.”

“The analysis is flawed and there are assertions there that are wholly unsupported by any evidence that I’ve been provided aside from individual isolated instances that I can count on one hand with fingers to spare,” she said. “I’ve seen no credible evidence of any organized efforts of unauthorized persons delivering ballots let alone widespread invalid votes being cast.”

Sounds like the fraud will be allowed to continue.

election security experts

Like who?

Name your name and provide proof you are right. Just saying the film makers are wrong is meaningless until you prove otherwise.

Saying mail in ballots have to go thru some process doesn’t mean that they actually did go thru it or that it was done correctly.

Damn funny no one wants to prove these are lies in any court.

Fruit of the poisoned tree. If this statement is allowed to stand legally, then all laws against receiving and possessing stolen property must be ended.

Dinesh D’Souza “These “fact checkers,” I am coming to realize, are experts in the art of deception. I mean, they’re really good at it! There’s probably a role for such practiced liars in the CIA or someplace, but I’m not sure the national media is the best fit for them “

Easy to investigate with all the work already done. Just pick up a couple mules that illegally handled ballots and ask them why they went to so many drop boxes. Was it to stay under the radar with their crime? If they were legal votes, why go through all that effort to stay undetected?

Glimmerman70, You asked me about Ruby, at least she made the headline.

"goes through the same checks as other ballots to ensure the vote is legitimate"

So it has a name and address that corresponds to one on the voter registration?

How do you know that person actually made that vote?

Georgia has a population of about 10 million and they had a total of about 5 million votes cast.

The 2016 election had about 4 million votes cast and the population was still around 10 million.

So a 2020 cheater knows going in that turnout based on 2016 is about 40%. If they can generate 1 million ballots w/valid names and addresses, only 40% would be rejected as dups with 600,000 votes remaining for Biden.

Biden won Georgia by about 12,000 votes.

A watch doesn't lose its value if it's stolen and a ballot doesn't lose its legitimacy just because the wrong person drops it in a box.

But the thief and the ballot harvester can both be prosecuted.

I love the quote. Right. People who are delivering “perfectly legal votes” do it at 3AM, driving from drop box to drop box, while wearing gloves. They then take a picture of the drop box “for the record” and then throw away the gloves. Yessiree! I can’t think of all the many times I’ve voted just like that!

I think we would know if there were 400k duplicate ballots cast in GA.

If they were dumping fake ballots why use the drop box at all? Why not just drop them in the mail?

...an ominous picture suggesting Democrat-aligned ballot “mules” were SUPPOSEDLY paid to illegally collect and drop off ballots...”

Clever word-smithing there. The picture “supposes” no such thing. The picture ACCUSES of them of having been paid. Using “supposedly” is editorializing a SUPPOSED news story.
