Kathy Barnette: She Has Some Fight In Her-My Opinion

Posted on 05/20/2022 10:59:28 AM PDT by DIRTYSECRET

Ok so she finished 3rd. The Hannity hate worked. Her tweet's didn't help. Neither did the infighting amongst the freepers. We have to keep the seat. Lose it and it's gone for 6 years. Trump knows it. Taking a chance on Oz is a deal with the devil-we all know that too. She fought hard and didn't quit like too many republicans do before as well as after elections. She kept it up after losing by 20 points in the house election. In her defense the district appears deep blue and if she fought the good fight in an expected loss kudos to her. She becomes one of us.

2024. Clear the decks. Anoint her to take on Casey the ENTRENCHED incumbent. He's an empty suit riding on his father's laurels. If he beat 3 republicans in 3 senate races that tells you all you need to know about us needing a fighter. The prospects of a '24 wave favoring the GOP might encourage a top-tier republican or two to take the plunge. Then there are the celebrities like Oz. I say beware. We'd have nothing to lose with her as our nominee like we would this year. The Hannity's out there will have to turnaround. The infighting will have to stop. Give her 2 years to make herself better known. Win or lose she should have a place in the party.

Nominating her this time would be like nominating a rookie like Lynn Swann to take on another entrenched incumbent-Rendell. Hindsight being 20-20 Swann was used as a sacrificial lamb-no chance. In a red state it might have worked. Let’s not be condescending.

Hopefully Trump or DeSantis gets her into a position where she can get national exposure and maybe a bit of mentoring and coaching in behind-the-scenes stuff that help her move forward. Strong Black Conservative woman who doesn’t quit when the knives come out; no one’s perfect but she could be pretty good with a bit more polish and organization and backing.

Well you can’t say her tweets didn’t talk the talk (we all mostly talk).

The ‘24 seat will not be as important to win unless Pennsylvania turns convincingly red this November. A bridge too far? That ex-GI failed on his own and there are no top-tier possibilities of note. You go for the fighter and making a statement. One celebrity is enough.

I do remember Santorum in his ‘conservative’ days. He supported Arlen Specter over ‘conservative’ Toomey because of a promise to support the next SCOTUS nominee. That’s how things get done there.

I live in PA, and she was ranked #3 on my list of contenders even though that field of contenders was mediocre at best.

If Kathy Barnette has any interest in a political future, she had best get working on running for a political office at the state level, or in a House district at most.

I don't mind political neophytes running for office -- even for a seat as important as the U.S. Senate. But for a position in government as important as a seat in the U.S. Senate Barnette's background was -- to be generous -- borderline embarrassing. Her resume reads like something I'd expect to see from a low-level corporate manager.

I don’t want her in my party. She’s not a team player. Right before the primary election, she said she would not support the winner if it wasn’t her. That’s ridiculous. Then she went on to bash Trump. She’s a RINO at best and a subversive at worst. No thanks.

BTW, PA is a red state but the democrats steal elections.
See 2000 Mules.

Trump only said positive things about her and that she will be elected later.

she SHOULD HAVE quit before splitting the vote Oz would have gotten.

and she has been nasty in her defeat

I thought she had promise, but her jumping in from nowhere to try to win was a bad move.

And the media pushing her, telling us how we were all panicking because of her, did not help anyone but the democrats and Mitch McConnel.

There was a jungle primary in Texas for a Congressional seat to replace a deceased congressman. 11 candidates entered the race. Two had high name recognition and were 1&2. Race went to a runoff. One of the candidates who finished 4th was actually the best of the lot but not well known throughout the entire congressional district.

He decided to run for State Rep., won handily. He is so popular that he has no Dem opponent in November. He was President Trumps Chief of staff at HHS, smart, articulate young and MAGA. Look for him on the news—Brian Harrison. A real up and comer.

Kathy should try to build some street cred like Brian and get her name out there
First.

I wonder what would have happened if we Pennsylvanians had just been left alone to decide the Senate race for ourselves.

The attack on Kathy Barnette started after she did well in the debate and began to surge in the polls - and it came largely from outside PA.

Ironically, the big argument for why we shouldn’t elect her was that she was supposedly unelectable.

Talking heads like Sean Hannity, Greg Kelly, Karl Rove and even our beloved President Trump saw what was happening and felt the need to explain to us simpleton PA voters what a strategic mistake it would be to vote with our hearts.

They call it “vetting”, but bombarding the airwaves with out-of-date and out-of-context tweets - in the final days when it’s too late to answer - that’s not vetting.

We let the Republican establishment railroad us again. MAGA got rolled. Unfortunately, it all started with the MAGA King being rolled - someone convinced him to endorse the wrong candidate.

Thank heavens he didn’t make the same mistake in the PA Governor’s race!

No, don’t clear the decks. All that does is keep the oppo research and cheap attacks fresh for the general election. She is owed nothing.

Two years is enough time for her to get two years’ wiser and better so she can win a contested statewide primary by her own efforts.

I wish her luck in that endeavor and hope she makes clear steps to do just that in a way that gets people excited to vote for her next time. It’d be very easy for her to cash in on her notoriety for the next teo years, push out a hastily written book and go on a little speaking tour of friendly echo chambers before entering the grift game by forming a PAC. I also hope her candidacy in this year’s primary serves as an inspiration for dozens of other nontraditional candidates to get involved in public life and run for office.

It’s covered in the Buckley rule. The most conservative who can win.

*RINO at best and a subversive at worst*.
No worse than Casey will be in ‘24.

It’s gonna be awesome.

Well, I don’t want “team player” republiCAN’Ts in my party. The “ team player” bush league chamber of commerce worshipping republiCAN’Ts are what got us into this position in the first place.
Thank you for telling us who and what you are.
You are a traitor to this country

Party doesn’t want her… PA GOP wants nothing to do with conservative other than their vote.

And the GOP voters in PA once more showed their battered women syndrome and obeyed their abusers. Same old pattern…

I’ll take that as a compliment from you since, based on some of your replies to other treads, you are borderline psycho.

She should try for some local political office—school board or something similar. She wasn’t qualified for such a high office. I’m thinking of her tweets and the fact she can’t even use grammatically correct English. I heard her use the word “ran” this way twice in one short comment, “I should have ran....” She also doesn’t know the meaning of the word “salacious.” She called one of Carla Sands comments about her salacious. Her language suggests someone with a third rate education. Her sore loser attitude after the election doesn’t help her either.

If she had won, she would have been facing a Harvard graduate with lots of political experience. He’s a whack job but he will be hard to beat.
