I know, we have had many discussions about marijuana on this site. And there is a strong libertarian contingent here, who stress the libertarian view.
Which among other things, means that we aren’t allowed to talk about whether marijuana is a dangerous drug or not. In that mindset, we need to be libertarian and non-judgemental about things.
There is a strong 10th amendment community here too, which stress that the federal government has no business banning or controlling any drugs. So there’s that too.
Whatever impairs your judgement or physical ability is dangerous. Use at your own risk, on your own time and in your own space. Do not inconvenience or imperil others though. That is not only illegal but wrong.
Self-government without self-discipline won’t work. That precludes doing whatever you want to do.
Pot is a topic that I am in the minority, believing it should always be illegal. I see the damage and cost everywhere from its use. And, no, I don’t see a little as okay, as a comparison to alcohol.
I was anti marijuana for years until I got severe PTSD. The crap the Big Farm has and was pushed on me to take by doctors were a hell of a lot worse than weed. With any other drug, it can be abused but it’s been the best thing I’ve ever taken and the best damn part, I’m recovering. If I was still listening to the doctors, I would be drugged up and scheduled to take their crap every day. I don’t with Marijuana. I’ve gone from taking it every day to once a week if flare ups start.
You don’t need much to help. The problem is when people abuse it, that’s when you here about it.
How liberal of them.
One can be libertarian about something while acknowledging the potential problems of it.
I never thought libertarianism was about denying reality, although maybe it is.
