EXCLUSIVE: Parents charged with murder of autistic daughter whose body was found fused to the couch by her own feces BOTH walk free after posting $300,000 bond 12 hours apart

Accused mom Sheila Fletcher walked resolutely out of jail on a $300,000 bond late Tuesday night - a little over 24 hours after she was arrested for the 'murder' of her autistic daughter, who was found fused to a sofa in her own excrement.

Sheila and husband Clay Fletcher, both 64, were charged with second-degree murder Monday and now face life in prison without parole if convicted over 36-year-old Lacey Ellen Fletcher's secret horrific ordeal that lasted at least 12 years.

Pictured leaving East Feliciana Parish Jail in exclusive DailyMail.com photos after her release, Sheila looked straight ahead and refused to answer questions we posed as she headed off with a hastily arranged bail bondsman.

Clay, meanwhile, was forced to spend another night behind bars in Clinton, Louisiana after his bond money could not be arranged in time - but was released 12 hours later Wednesday morning, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The bespectacled mom shed her orange prison jump suit and emerged at 10.30pm local time wearing a blue top with white spots and blue pants. Her short blond hair appeared in disarray.

She refused to say if she felt any remorse over Lacey, who died covered in feces and sunk in a hole in a sofa worn by her emaciated body at her parents' otherwise tidy home in the small town of Slaughter.

Was a nursing home just simply out of the question with this woman's kind of illness?

This is weird.

I’ve seen cases where feeble minded people were starved and found in similar conditions.. but “Fused to a couch in feces”. Someone was bringing her food and water.

That is horrific.. but it doesn’t really add up. I wonder if they are waiting for people to come forward with further details.

We’re forced to pay an abundance to the cult of medicine for tyrannical care, but God forbid adequate funding for mental illness and special needs.

The woman simply would not move from the couch, ever. She never left the house due to some kind of social anexiety.

She had something else wrong with her besides autism but for some reason she would not leave the house or get up off the couch.

I think at some point the parents should have called an ambulance, oh about several years ago but I also think they were doing their best. I believe they didn’t know what to do. I would not know what to do.

I know there are people here with a kid with autism, what do you do in this kind of situation?

I’m not going to completely judge them yet because the DBM tends to embellish some things but if all true, you can bet the parents were cashing in the dtr’s SS checks for all these yrs....and as young as the woman was, the checks were probably pretty dang good.

Let’s cut to the chase: When will these two monsters be executed? Should before the end of the month but probably they will be sentenced to a few years in the country club prison system before they’re freed on parole.

Lots of fat people to big to move/get up have become fused to sofas and beds. People still bring them food.

cherry I wondered if the girl received any kind of disability she certainly was able to qualify. More than able.

Years ago her parents could have found a nursing home for her.

Imagine the smell in that house and it’s not a big house. All that for a SS check? EEWWWW

Where’d they get that kind of money to post bail?

SSI for someone who has never worked is 735 a month plus Medicaid coverage.

Yes she had severe autism but in other articles I’ve read she also had something else.

too bad for the parents that this didn’t happen in California, they could have just called it a 432 month abortion.

i remember one a few years ago that actually had the cushion overgrown with her skin

there was a hole in the center for a slopjar

the skin had actually grown into the cushion, there were masked closeup shots of it, made my skin crawl...

At some point you would have to get legal guardianship and have her moved to a facility, perhaps a nursing home, where she could get the care she needed. That doesn’t happen automatically even with her autism and other issues. I’m not justifying the condition she was in but they were doubtless far beyond the end of their ropes.
