I do envy people who can play an instrument(s). I love music, baroque in particular, but play no instruments. My mom plays the piano by ‘ear’, full chords - it’s a remarkable gift. I didn’t get that gift & wasn’t much good at sight reading so I readily gave up piano lessons for a pony at age 12. I did have horsemanship skills so it turned out to be a good tradeoff.
I can read music (bass and treble), but not at same time (piano), and not guitar (can/could play by ear only).
Could never play banjo (my dad did, along with guitar.. said he learned in ‘Nam).
