I can read music (bass and treble), but not at same time (piano), and not guitar (can/could play by ear only).
Could never play banjo (my dad did, along with guitar.. said he learned in ‘Nam).
I picked up piano at the age of 66 after a lifetime of trying and quitting over and over. I even had a famous pianist as an instructor. Just couldn’t do it. Then I found the Alfred’s adult piano course on Amazon. Success! I am just finishing the first book and am playing beautifully, given my beginner’s level. You Tube has fantastic tutorials based on the book, too. Don’t give up!
