Wouldn't have posted, but I noticed his TRUMP posters in the background :D

Great music, and great opinion posted. (I think he said he was born around '82', and didn't know when "Tom Sawyer" was made.. (1981).

Anyway, it is fun and interesting to watch the 'First Time' vids of these last 2 generations...

If RUSH had only ever released that one song, their place in rock history would still have been cemented forever.

It’s breathtaking, imho.

The other day I saw a reaction video to “The Wizard of Oz”. The people didn’t know the story but did know that it was an old film. The movie starts out in Kansas, with its sepia tones. The reactors didn’t comment on that — it’s an old movie, right? Movies used to be black and white. No need to say anything about the monochrome world of Kansas.

And then Dorothy lands in Oz — and the movie switches to color. The reactors were AMAZED! Color movies?? Is that possible?? Did they make color movies back then? How did they do that??

Reaction videos can be a guilty pleasure.

Correction.. was a typo when I typed ‘82.. but meant ‘92... BUT went back and checked, he was born in ‘95.

My favorite "reaction" guy is Jamal AKA Jamel. Super nice guy who reviews all kind of stuff and had become a huge fan of progressive rock after hearing it for the first time. That's actually not uncommon among reactors, most of whom had no idea that genre existed.

His reaction after hearing Yes' Close to the Edge:

YES!!!

I adore Jamel. What a beautiful soul he is. I must buy some of his gear or at least make a donation.

Have you seen him watching The 5th Dimension for the first time? Aquarius - go look if you haven’t yet.

Be a good human. Spread peace, joy and love; and keep great music alive.

And Rush is now his favorite band so that’s triple bonus.

Cheers!

“Red Barchetta” is another. Its a futuristic song about owners of old speedster car - that have all been banned by government Motor Laws. That was 40 years ago. Very telling.

I am a long time Rush fan. First concert I went to was Rush back in the 80s. Agree or disagree with their politics, they really hit the mark, with some timeless classics.

What a terrible intro to Yes! I was fortunate to get into them via their early 70s album trifecta: The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close To The Edge. There is some good stuff on Going For The One as well.

I saw them about 5 years before Chris Squire died (2009). An amazing live band. Their “opening act” was ASIA! Steve Howe played the entirety of both sets.
