Hi All,
Wondering if some of you would kindly provide any good recommendations for documentaries on The Great Depression. The Hoover Institution has a few interesting, but brief, video interviews with various authors and historians on YouTube, but I'm looking for something a bit more extensive.
The documentary doesn't necessarily have to be hosted on YouTube or Netflix, but I'm more concerned with the level of bias exhibited. I'm looking for one that is obviously critical of government intervention and intrusion of the free market.
Any recommendations? Thank you.
My grandparents hated FDR
Search for Thomas Sowell videos
History is written by the victors.
While this documentary is not based soley on the great depression it does lay out how/why it happened along with the running battle over who controls the money supply throughout history. Long, but worth every moment if you have the time.

Read the book, the Worst Hard Time by Egan. I listened to it free on Libby app from public library. It explains how the dust bowl was man made and the government largely complicit.
Read: FDR’s Folly - How Roosevelt and His New Deal Prolonged the Great Depression.
Or the late Milton Friedman !
Start with Amity Schlaes “The Forgotten Man”.

My grandparents also hated him. When FDR died, my grandfather went out onto the street and yelled “The sonofabitch is dead”.
Read “The Forgotten Man” by Amity Schlaes. The definitive history of the Depression exposing FDR’s perfidy and failures.
Yup. The Depression was caused by the banks/federal reserve and then used to instill Socialism/Marxism on America.
FDR is the patron saint of progressives.
The propaganda of the “New Deal” is the ideological foundation of every leftist, big-government social-engineering scheme we have now
I would have liked him.
He was a strong conservative Republican when it really meant something.
Born in 1884, he graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 1903.
He was in the fight to prevent FDR from “Packing” the Supreme Court.
Read “The Forgotten Man” by Amity Shlaes.

You nailed it!
Talk to your parents or grand parents. They lived it. I heard all about it from my parents and my friends parents. It really sucked.
