Beechcraft is the corrected name; however I read recently that it was a lowly Cessna 172, with a pilot not certified for instrument flying.

It wasn’t a 172, it was a Model 35 Bonanza with N-number N3794N:

Yeah, the pilot wasn’t Iowa’s best. Young and inexperienced.
