Los Angeles County Fire Department was called to Parking Lot L at the stadium at about 4:05 p.m., during the NFC Championship Game between the 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams.

There, firefighters found the victim, whom the Los Angeles Times identified as Daniel Luna, a restaurant owner from Oakland.

Firefighters transported Luna, who was wearing a 49ers jersey at the time of the attack, to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and staff in the hospital’s emergency room brought Luna to the attention of police, Meeks said.

It’s happened before in LA. In 2011 a SF Giants fan, a paramedic, was attacked from behind after a Dodgers game. He was left brain damaged. https://abcnews.go.com/US/san-francisco-giants-fan-bryan-stow-coma-attacked/story?id=13298349

They not only waste their time on it. They worship the players as gods. And the game controls their life.

Exactly. Perspective.

Some people spend more than that to vacation for a few days in a 3rd world country.

If that is how they want to spend their money and time, so be it.

Entertainment. A momentary escape.

“Do you think the NFL will put his name on the back of the helmets?”

No. He owns a Peruvian restaurant. South American man. What group of people don’t get along with Hispanics… and Asians and whites … and other bl… But I don’t know the perpetrator so maybe I shouldn’t speculate.

In the parking lot, so, tailgating for hours? Drinking? Bad situation to start exchanging words with strangers. What’s with LA Rams’ and Dodgers’ fans violently assaulting 49ers’ and Giants’ fans?

“And the game controls their life.”

Packers, Reds, and University of Kentucky basketball and football fan here. I do wonder at times if I’m making an idol of sports? So I try to take care of other things while watching the games. Opening mail. Cooking. Eating. Washing dishes. Doing some stuff on the Internet.

Used to go up to a local watering hole to watch Packers games not on local TV. Haven’t the last two COVID seasons. Am I slowly souring because of kneeling and left-wing slogans thrown in my face on helmets and the field? Probably. Met some good people there though, one wears a MAGA hat.

A few years back the Packers lost a hard fought overtime game at the Redskins, oops, I mean, the “Football Team”, I mean, the Commanders. One Washington fan let out a whoop at the game-winning field goal and quickly walked out of the bar. Most intense Packers’ fan went flying out the door after him. Other men quickly ran outside and got in front of him. Guy was about to risk committing an assault with the possibility of jail time and a civil suit over a football game.

Because people from SF go to LA and start running their mouths at some dangerous people. I’ve been to dozens of Ram games since about 1966. The same thing happens in every city. If you don’t know better than to be polite in your Bengals jersey in Pittsburgh (eg). - you’ll probably get your head kicked in there too

Libertarians want to be left alone so I for one don’t wear jerseys to games-colors maybe. Lefties are more in your face with their opinions so they’re more likely to cross the line, especially after a couple of beers. Tailgating should be banned. Too much enclosed fun in minimal space where too many cars move around. Out here on the west coast a younger fella can down some rich food and waddle into the stadium before 1pm start time. Too much volatile pretend fun.
