Biden Says a Trump Rematch 'Would Increase the Prospect' of Him Running in 2024 |

President Biden Wednesday made a big announcement about his reelection plans, admitting that it will depend if he is in good health, but if his predecessor, former President Trump, does run, it would "increase the prospect" of him running.

In an exclusive sit-down interview with ABC "World News Tonight," host David Muir asked Biden if he plans to run for a second term.

"Yes," Biden said.

However, Biden left room for doubt, revealing that a lot could happen between now and 2024, pointing out that his health will play a huge factor in whether he will or won't run for a second term.

"But look, I'm a great respecter of fate. Fate has intervened in my life many, many times. If I'm in the health, I am in now — if I am in good health, then, in fact, I would run again," Biden said.

Talks about his health and so early into his presidency will certainly raise eyebrows as it comes at a time the country has watched Biden cough his way through remarks over the past month, along with numerous times of losing his train of thoughts when speaking without the help of a teleprompter.

Biden is already the oldest person in US history to be inaugurated as President at the age of 78. There's been widespread speculation that Biden may only serve one four-year term due to his age, along with the fact that he will be 81 years old if he were to run and win just a week after Election Day in 2024.

Muir then inquired about the prospect of a 2020 "rematch" with Trump, who the former President has continued to drop multiple hints regarding a 2024 run within the last ten months. Trump served only one term and is eligible to run again in 2024.

Trump is the heart, soul, and undisputed kingmaker of the Republican Party who can easily win the nomination if he were to run, as poll after poll shows overwhelming support amongst GOP voters. However, the former President has noted that he wouldn't make any official announcement until after the 2022 midterm election and whether the GOP regains control of both House and Senate.

"And if that means a rematch against Donald Trump?" Muir asked Biden.

"You're trying to tempt me now," Biden said as he made a weird grin when hearing his predecessor's name.

Biden declared that if it ended up squaring off against Trump, it would increase the chance to make him more likely to seek reelection, forgo any excuse of health concerns.

"Sure. Why would I not run against Donald Trump for the nominee? That'll increase the prospect of running," he added.

Supporters have called on Biden to step aside after a single term in order to make way for the next generation of younger Democrats. It also comes after reports revealed Democrats continue to express doubts and raise concerns about Biden's viability amid his first year seeing historically low approval ratings, record-high inflation, and a failed agenda handing by a thread.

Along with voters expressing dismay over Biden's handling of multiple crises plaguing his presidency, his numerous gaffe moments, and quick to snap at people, Democrats are nervous that his fragile age and mind will also sink Congressional Democrats ahead of the 2022 midterm election.

Last month, White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed that Biden intends to run again for a second term. Biden, earlier this year, told reporters it's his "expectation" to run for reelection in 2024 and that he "would fully expect" Vice President Kamala Harris to be his running mate again.

Biden has not even finished the full- first year as President, capping off no signature domestic legislation victory to record into the history book. Meanwhile, just shy into his first year, Trump scored a massive victory when Congressional Republicans helped get his signatures Tax Cuts law signed just before Christmas and 11 months into his presidency.

His health will preclude it.

Kamala's replacement will be Prez before 2024.

in 2024 he’ll be hiding in the White House basement along with all the other useless odds and ends. They’ll trot him out to speak to a dozen people sitting in circles. The media will do all the heavy lifting of actually campaigning.

Why would I not run against Donald Trump for the nominee?

Cause you'd get clobbered. Even worse than you got clobbered in 2019.

Trumps going to need to drop the vaccine push if he doesn’t want half his voters if not about 90% to dump home

So the story is that the 2024 election will be a clash between an octogenarian and an almost-octogenarian? I’m glad that’s been settled.

My Lord, Brandon doesn’t even remember today what he said during that interview yesterday, or when it was taped.

The Corn-Pop campaign. Push-ups, back alley beatings, tractor trailer racing, spaghetti sauce stacking, straight razor wielding, chain swinging, brass knuckles, leg hair braiding contests. Winner takes all.

Far too many Freepers believe this is going to be addressed in time for 2022 and 2024. I guess one can be intelligent and delusional at the same time.
