When did the book of Maccabees become part of the Bible?
Catholic bible.
It comes with Catholic package.
The Catholic Church added it so they could prove their interpretation of purgatory is Biblical
Truth is 1st and 2nd books of Macabbees are good for historical reference but they are not inspired.
They are considered apocryphal because they include a lot of unproven accounts of spiritual interventions by God that was never proven, with erroneous and fictitious people who never existed.
They are like the heretical Gospels like that of Thomas, and others that claim Jesus married marry and had children, or other false stories who’s authors were supposedly the Disciples and others, but were proven to be written hundreds of years after the disciple who supposedly wrote them died.
It always has been. It’s part of the Deuterocanonical set of books. See more about the council of Rome in 382.

About 430 A.D.
Maccabees books 1 and 2 were in the Bible for over 1,000 years....UNTIL Martin Luther removed it, and several other books, because they disproved his hypotheses.
Now if you belonged to the Holy Church of the Apocryphilians, you’d have that Bible in your possession right now. I bet you’re feeling some regret right now. No, you won’t say it out loud but deep deep inside of you, you’re saying why won’t they let ME play in their reindeer games. well, you have to be a member, know the secret handshake and for the apocrypha, the special decoder ring.
