Armed smash-and-grab looters broke into a high-end exotic car dealership in Chicago, stealing millions of dollars in watches.
"We're here to run a legitimate business, not be a western shootout," Joe Perillo, co-owner of Gold Coast Exotic Motor Cars, told ABC7.
Two men reportedly entered the dealership, which boasts a showroom of Lamborghinis and Bentleys, around noon on Saturday. One man was armed with a gun and stood by the entrance of the dealership while the other man used a hammer to smash display cases and allegedly stole about eight luxury watches, Fox 32 reported.
"He was smart enough not to raise the gun, because my people had guns," said Perillo. "If he raised that gun, he would have been shot, we’d probably be in court defending ourselves."
The watches were stolen in a matter of seconds and worth millions of dollars, according to the store.
"30 seconds, and they know, the criminals know," Perillo told ABC 7.
About 10 customers, including children, were in the showroom at the time of the robbery. Some employees tried to chase the suspects, but to no avail.
"We ran after them on Chestnut, all the way to State Street, and then they split up," said Joe Abbas, co-owner, Gold Coast Exotic Motor Cars.
Perillo added that Mayor Lori Lightfoot and District Attorney Kim Foxx must hold the perpetrators to account.
"The mayor and Kim Foxx have to take a firm stand. It is wrong for someone to walk in, break into a place. And if they get caught, they get let out," Perillo said.

And Mayor Lightfoot and prosecutor Fox are responsible. Any white person who harms a black person, under any circumstance, is toast. Period.

Mayor Lighthead is blaming the Store owners for not providing enough security to stop the criminals.
The City of Chicago and the Police Department is not to be blamed.
That store was asking for it, what with all that White Privilege on display...
Lightfoot says businesses should do more to protect themselves. But they do - in the form of their business taxes that are supposed to support the police dept and justice dept and their monthly private security, whether it be cameras or actual persons. If Lightfoot is admitting business owners aren’t getting value for their tax dollars, then that’s Lightfoot’s problem.
I happen to enjoy collecting (very small collection) of mechanical watches. The more stories I hear,may just want to wear the Timex out. ughhh

I don't think Mr Perillo understand about the mayor and Kim Foxx idea or how "reparations" works in Chicago.....Hes lucky they didn't steal his cars and leave him for dead....He needs to donate more cash to their cause or hire guys that know what to do with their weapons when he's being robbed ....

I know Joe Perillo and worked with him for years. He is a very eccentric guy and hands on business owner who personally writes all of his checks, (after a former trusted manager defrauded him.)
He has dealerships where nobody else is allowed to have dealerships.
If Perillo’s people find the perps, we’ll never hear a word about it.

I don’t feel sorry for them. Sometimes you get what you vote for.
Neither do I. Even the weather liberals here in So. Cal. are being robbed in their own homes. They not only helped create the problem by voting for it, but were quiet as a door mouse and said nothing when BLM was burning down neighboring cities.
Sucks to be them.
I think the following quote sums up the attitude of wealthy liberals quite well:
