Listening to Pergram now. He has been told by a highly placed person in DC to familiarize himself with the congressional procedure to replace a VP.
Congress has no role until there is a vacancy.
Kamala may be unpopular (I'm sure she is), but if she has to go, I bet it's because her Hollywood lawyer husband has pissed somebody important off.
“...the congressional procedure to replace a VP.”
VP Agnew resigned after being charged with taking bribes as VP. Other than that, the dems are stuck with her...one heartbeat away.
Tucker Carlson said she grew up in Canada. Maybe she forgot to become a citizen.
Sorry, there is no such procedure. Except possibly impeachment. Which ain’t gonna happen.
I love that the first 5 or 6 Freepers all pointed out the obvious: there isn't a ready mechanism to replace the VPOTUS, unless the VPOTUS has resigned.
Agnew resigned, but it was part of a plea deal with the DOJ. In return for his resignation he was promised No Prison Time for his bribery trial. (He knew he was guilty as sin, so this was a good deal.)
Could Biden force Kamala out with some sort of DOJ squeeze like was used on Agnew? Seems doubtful.
She could be impeached, but that's not going to happen. For what? Even in the post-Trump era, I just don't think they can build to a fever pitch to impeach her, and why would the GOP help the Dems with that.
The 25th Amendment is to replace the President, not the VP, so even that's off the table.
Biden could ask her to resign. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation!
