Biden's heating oil fiasco
American Thinker ^ | 26 Oct, 2021 | Linnea Lueken

The supply chain crisis and fuel shortages that will harm Americans this winter and beyond have been created by dumb, but deliberate, government decisions.

During World War II, U.S. coal companies ran radio advertisements cautioning people to buy only what they needed for immediate use. The government anticipated needing to use much of the available coal to keep pace with the urgent demand for it by the military. Eventually, the U.S. government rationed gasoline and oil, too.

Eighty years later, electric utilities are once again warning Americans that we could be in for a long, cold, dark winter. However, the difference is, today’s shortages are not due to a global conflict causing the consumption of more fuel than ever before.

Almost all countries are increasing energy consumption compared to last year. Yet, it reflects a return to normal, not a historic increase.

As the world climbs out of government-inflicted COVID-19 shutdowns, energy demand is certain to climb. In fact, all energy sources and fuels are in high demand. Such is why the price of oil and natural gas continues to rise.

European utilities are even switching from natural gas back to coal power this winter, just to keep the lights on and the heat running. According to a report from Bloomberg Quint, American utility executives are warning that we may well do the same, and even then we may still see blackouts in some areas.

I think Biden is planning on the blackout strategy to keep the lights on.

Folks in the northeast use heating oil, right?

Who’d they vote for?

Not to worry.

Jen Peesack will just say it is another crisis they inherited from the previous anministration. Just like the border.

The plan to reduce our standard of living to that of Argentina is proceeding smoothly.

If only there was an affordable energy resource right here at home that was plentiful, and could be extracted right from the ground beneath our feet……Aw, that’s crazy talk. As Brandon would say, “C’mon man!”

Biden kills Keystone pipeline and discourages domestic drilling and now Russia becomes number two importer of oil to the US.

I have never understood why heating oil (luxury deisel fuel) was still used so predominantly in the north east. I’m originally from the rural lower midwest and that is a heat fuel mostly of decades ago around here. Last time I remember it being used much was maybe back in the 70’s and the folks using it then mostly had what was older equipment even at that time.

Looks like it's because the houses are so old.

My parents house was built c 1904. Gas lamps with a coal furnace. We went from coal/wood in the 1940s to oil to gas in about 1960.

“European utilities are even switching from natural gas back to coal power this winter”

Sounds like the utilities didn’t tear down the coal-fired boilers. Lucky them.

Maybe the same boiler can be used for both. I heard, though, that gas-fired boilers need to be made differently because a gas flame produces less radiant energy than the more brilliant coal flame.

"Biden's heating oil fiasco"

Dementiajoe's puppetmasters will use that crisis this winter to establish martial law in the United States.

I have never understood why heating oil (luxury diesel fuel) was still used so predominantly in the north east.

Because in rural areas it's efficient to deliver by truck.

There are not gas lines underground in less densely populated areas.

Gas can blow your house to smithereens.

We have a very efficient System 2000 boiler, and partially heat the house with water solar.

“Biden kills Keystone pipeline and discourages domestic drilling and now Russia becomes number two importer of oil to the US.

Very similar to the Bill Clinton and Hussein Obama Administrations.

Treasonously - America, Israel, and American allies get smashed, homosexual and reprobate minds, and anti-American global totalitarian communism grab and purge vast agencies of American government — While Russia, China, (and North Korea, and Iran) are given vast libraries of US weapons tech, strategic materials, and other US assets, and America is forced to buy Russian energy at the higher prices. (Similar to how Ukraine is forced to purchase it’s own stolen energy from Russian taken/stolen Ukrainian energy regions in the East and Black Sea, and the EU experiences forced energy dependency on Russian (and Siberian), and even Chinese controlled Middle East energy fields and backbone.

In fact, I recall Clinton absolutely crushing/bankrupting US mining, steel, and energy (spiking market/spot and transport costs), then almost giving US energy to China, and helping Russia take over US Steel Corp and coal, Clinton giving China the best coal in the world from “protected” Utah park land. Then the US bought dirty coal from China to compensate for the loss of US energy (including Chinese rubber and steel). US Steel Corp went bankrupt, and then Clinton made sure the Russians got the company, not unlike Clinton intervention make sure Huchinson Wampoa (Chinese PLA front company), was given administrative control of the Panama Canal.

Yes — these things really happened, and much more.

And it was as bad or worse under Obama (with the Clinton’s still dominantly operational in the “0” White Hut), with Skolkavo advanced US weapons transfer and keys&codes to US intel agency “tools” and database’s, and U-1, and crushing US energy prices which spiked Russian energy dependency in the West, while significantly spiking Russian energy profit.

Only an absolute fool would not see who is really running our US puppet government and even DOD at this point.

Now both the US energy sector, and the entire remaining DOD apparatus is being left wing purged, filled with homosexual/reprobate environmentalists leftist officer corp and corporate energy executives, and are being forcibly replaced with hard core leftists (Example 1 - Exxon), and all personnel and employees being injected with a mild dial-up bio-weapon.

America is so dumbed down and retard, and so morally debased, we cannot even save our own elections and society from the communist onslaught now fully under way.

What could possibly go wrong... oh wait.

***gas flame produces less radiant energy than the more brilliant coal flame.***

This is true. Our coal fired power plant starts up with diesel fuel to ignite the coal dust blown in. One plant tried gas but the flame indicators could not pick up the glow.

At another plant we used natural gas jet engines attached to generators. They work fine.

“This is true. Our coal fired power plant starts up with diesel fuel ...”

Do you suppose that when a power plant switches from gas to coal as reported in the news, the same boiler is used?

Another question: how long does it take to start or stop your plant. I’ve heard that all the metal needs to be heated and cooled slowly.

From a cold start up a coal fired plant may take 3 or 4 days to get to full load. It needs to be warmed up slowly.

Our natural gas turbine plant can be at full load within an hour.
