On Wednesday, October 6, Walk Away founder Brandon Straka pled guilty to a Class B Misdemeanor for the crime of disorderly conduct inside the US Capitol Grounds on January 6th.

Brandon did NOT go inside the US Capitol, did not participate in ANY violence, did not encourage violence, did not plan any violence, yet the corrupt and politicized federal government charged him with TWO felonies and a misdemeanor.

Brandon Straka was charged with crimes because Brandon Straka is EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE as a grassroots organizer!

Brandon’s story is amazing. After being a dedicated liberal for years and years he started to do a bit of investigating and decided he could no longer support the viciousness and lies of the left.

I sure hope at least a few of these cases go to trial. I know it’s D.C. and would probably be a totally unfair trial, but I would love some discovery.

Of course I really know very little about the law and their would probably be gag orders so we would never get to see inside anyway.

I don't follow that. Lawsuits by whom? For what? My own take is that they plead guilty to these lesser charges because the trespassing/disorderly conduct law is so broad and ambiguous, and the DC venue so hostile, that they aren't sure they can win, so rather than have enormous legal costs for a lengthy defense, they plead guilty just to get it over with.

If Straka were to be acquitted or have the charges dismissed, I would assume he could sue DOJ for false arrest and malicious prosecution or some other tort.

I don't remember the details of the alleged crimes, but this looks like another Federal squeeze play where if you plead guilty to a minor charge, the Feds will drop everything else and stop letting you rot in jail as a political prisoner. Fighting for principal can be very expensive and the Feds are masters at forcing the plaintiff to spend everything because they won't “cooperate.”
