Unsurprisingly, it has taken very little time for rights groups—most notably GLAAD—to take issue with one of the world’s most powerful entertainment brands paying a very famous comedian millions of dollars to tell these kinds of jokes. GLAAD issued a statement today asserting that, “Dave Chappelle’s brand has become synonymous with ridiculing trans people and other marginalized communities. Negative reviews and viewers loudly condemning his latest special is a message to the industry that audiences don’t support platforming anti-LGBTQ diatribes.”
The world needs a million more Chappelles.

They were cheering him when he made some VERY NASTY jokes about GWB on one of his standup “comedy” shows, using explicit language suggesting Bush had performed fellatio on another world leader (I forget which one).
I have zero sympathy for him.

I remember listening to Norm MacDonald's excoriating bit on "gay pride" that he performed at a club in San Francisco. The awkwardness in the audience was both telling and funny at the same time, but Norm didn't care. There was a smattering of laughter and cheering, but the majority of them couldn't stand the truth.
