If anyone doubts whether the actions were done on purpose ... consider if military forces really, truly, honestly, didn’t know that giving a list of Afghanis who collaborated with the US government directly to the Taliban was a bad idea, i.e., marking them for execution.
Should we also tell the Chinese government, “Hey, the following people are all spying for the US. Please be sure to treat them kindly, and give them lots of good information.”
They know, and they knew. This was obviously done deliberately, to burn those who helped the US, and to reduce the chances that anyone, probably for decades into the future, will ever knowingly collaborate with the US.

what could they have done that would have made this worse for America and our military? even if they’d ordered our troops to fight their way out of afghanistan on foot, it would have been better than this.
