Background: Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has a wide range of pathophysiological effects. Curcumin, an active constituent of Curcuma longa (turmeric), has several properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral, anti-thrombotic, and anti-proliferative effects, which make it a promising candidate for the symptomatic treatment of COVID-19.
Objective: We aimed to determine the effects of curcumin administered with piperine (to optimize absorption) on symptoms in patients with COVID-19 in a double-blind, randomized, controlled trial at a 30-bed dedicated COVID Health Center (DCHC) in Maharashtra, India.
Methods: In addition to conventional COVID-19 treatment, patients in the control group received a dose of probiotics twice a day, and patients in the study group received curcumin (525 mg) with piperine (2.5 mg) in tablet form twice a day. The effects of curcumin/piperine treatment on primary and secondary outcomes were assessed for the duration of hospitalization.
Results: Patients with mild, moderate, and severe symptoms who received curcumin/piperine treatment showed early symptomatic recovery (fever, cough, sore throat, and breathlessness), less deterioration, fewer red flag signs, better ability to maintain oxygen saturation above 94% on room air, and better clinical outcomes compared to patients of the control group. Furthermore, curcumin/piperine treatment appeared to reduce the duration of hospitalization in patients with moderate to severe symptoms, and fewer deaths were observed in the curcumin/piperine treatment group.
Conclusions: Administration of oral curcumin with piperine as an adjuvant symptomatic therapy in COVID-19 treatment could substantially reduce morbidity and mortality, and ease the logistical and supply-related burdens on the healthcare system. Curcumin could be a safe and natural therapeutic option to prevent Post-Covid thromboembolic events.

Writeup on this study from C19early.com:
RCT 140 patients, 70 treated with curcumin and piperine (for absorption), showing faster recovery, lower progression, and lower mortality with treatment. Control group patients also received probiotics.
Risk of death, 81.8% lower, RR 0.18, p = 0.02, treatment 2 of 70 (2.9%), control 11 of 70 (15.7%).
Risk of death, 60.0% lower, RR 0.40, p = 0.39, treatment 2 of 15 (13.3%), control 5 of 15 (33.3%), severe group.
Risk of death, 90.9% lower, RR 0.09, p = 0.05, treatment 0 of 25 (0.0%), control 5 of 25 (20.0%), continuity correction due to zero event, moderate group.
Risk of death, 66.7% lower, RR 0.33, p = 1.00, treatment 0 of 30 (0.0%), control 1 of 30 (3.3%), continuity correction due to zero event, mild group.
Good news.. I’ve been taking turmeric with BioPerine also.. from BioSchwartz for inflammation from power walking... good to hear it might help with this. Thanks for the post.
It doesn't do anything on its own of consequence with COVID-19, as no studies have investigated it on its own, while multiple ones have done so with curcumin.
I believe strongly that it time treatments will accumulate in their variety and success to the point that treatment will be recognized as preferable to vaccines, as fatality will be reduced to negligible and herd immunity will come from all who succeed against the virus, whether the asymptomatic or the successfully treated.

That Kook conspiracy broadcaster in Austin sells turmeric with piperine. I have some. It does work.
I had a very mild Covid case in February, and I wondered if the daily turmeric had an impact. I was also doing D, Zinc,COQ10, C, Albuterol, and daily saline nose wash kept things at bay. No fever, or headaches, pains…just light allergy symptoms and eventual, temporary taste loss. I had more than one commorbidity, which should have pointed to a severe case. Glad to hear that this is a potential positive influence in outcomes…used Costco version…3000mg/day.
We take turmeric everyday for arthritis. Its very strong. Don’t buy the junk at Costco or CVS. Buy the organic turmeric online and some gel caps and make your own. Its way cheaper and far superior.
Turmeric can have impurities, both as compounds and as metals, that can make it less healthy than one would imagine, organic, or not.
If we could just get the evil medical establishment out of the way, I’m sure we would have dramatic advances in treating and preventing cancer. Anyone drawing a paycheck from that industry them will disagree.
I believe bioperine is black pepper
Explain that to me because I’m sceptical. 🙄
Thank you. I was wondering.
I said over a year ago that MDs and hospitals should be free to develop treatments and gauge their effectiveness or ineffectiveness. They then would share the results. Treatment is in many cases better than vaccines.
I take 2 tabs of pomi 10x wfor my prostate, which hs turmeric, albeit at a lower dose than the study.
Ping of interest.
Make your supplement tastier by putting it in a nice split pea soup:

I buy turmeric in the 5 pound bag at the restaurant warehouse, and package it in #0 gelcaps. It seems to help the bursitis.
For you shoulder?
I could use that
