Think about how good the writing was in Breaking Bad when it could be in the same ballpark with a great show from a subscription channel. Breaking Bad had a more solid last season too. I bet this new sopranos prequel is good too.

Tony couldn’t have been a teenager in 1967, so the riots can’t be that big a part of the movieIf Tony Soprano was 17 during the Newark race riots of 1967, he would have been born in 1950. The Sopranos was first aired 21 years ago, so the Tony character would have been 50 when the series started, and the children Meadow and AJ would have been born in Tony's late 30s. But Gandolfini was a decade too young.
You're right; it's about 5 to 10 years "off." Artistic license, or an attempt to be "woke", as others are worrying about upthread?

Saints? They were devils.
The hideous series "Boondock Saints" should sue them for trademark infringement.

LMAO. And maybe Phil Leotardo will be working his shinebox at Penn Station, too.

I just realized “Moltisanti” means “Many Saints” in Italian.

One thing you know is it should have a great soundtrack, I can’t tell you how many great songs I discovered thanks to The Sopranos.

Spitting Image. It's eerie. God bless him; he found his father dead on their vacation in Rome. Hope all goes well for him going forward and that he doesn't get typecast.
When I lived as an "outsider" amongst the Philly mob years ago, it was sad to see some of the young boys getting "drafted" simply by being born in those circumstances into the life of crime. I saw a lot of suffering with the wives and mothers when a mob war broke out. Once they're in, it's almost impossible to get out unless they make a break with their entire family.

That song “Dolphins” by Fred Neil is my favorite, what a great song that is.

You haven’t seen the ‘Sopranos’ until you’ve seen the ‘MadTV’ episodes. Will Sasso as Tony Soprano is hysterical.
