Eleven U.S. mayors said Friday they are committed to paying reparations for slavery but gave few details on how they would accomplish the task.
The group, led by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, announced a coalition to pursue reparations, Mayors Organized for Reparations and Equity (MORE).

Maybe. What if the amount isn't good enough? I've got a feeling that it won't be. Getting the worms back in that can will be a bit tough.

If I were looking at this scheme, I’d let the mayor know that I need $25,000 a year, for the rest of my life. If I were on the inside angle of this gimmick...offering me a lousy one-time $3,000 check won’t cut it.
All of this, if you think about it....leads back to the tax revenue strategy and how the general public needs to step in and just say in a blunt voice....you need only x-amount of money (probably 60-percent of what you collect currently) and to cut about one-third of your total services in the community.
To whom are these reparations to be paid, and what shall be the source of funds?
It is like the business model proposed by the underpants gnomes in the “South Park” series - collect underpants, ?, take profit. There is a very questionable step right in the middle of that plan.

About 15 years ago, I saw a talk show about reparations.
The show displayed viewers’ comments on screen.
And one comment said: “I’m half-black. Do I collect 50% or just pay myself and call it even?”
It was funny, plus it made the point of how ridiculous the whole idea is.
Back in 1917 a “Soviet” was essentially a Bolshevik revolutionary organization at approximately the city level.
I think the reason these (mostly left coast but not all) cities are defunding the police and letting the homeless lunatics rule the asylum is that Soros and others are funding a network of these 21st century soviets here in the good ole USA.
They certainly aren’t doing this ish because they think its good for their cities or what the majority of their voters want.
We now understand why juneteenth was declared a holiday. (To condition the folks for nationwide reparations.)
