I called trying to get some answers for the horrible service the USPS is still giving ( missing checks/packages, etc). Local post office is frustrated and said consumer affairs knows the situation. They acted like it was a waste of time to call. I called one of my senatorial swamp creatures office (D) and got a peon. They still are playing politics. They were talking about adding sorting machines and overtime. Covid and union crap. I don't see it getting better.
Fortunately I do not have that problem at all here in Louisiana.
I put my Dad’s Father’s Day card in the mail yesterday and they did not pick it up. I have wondered if they skip some days or if I just don’t get mail on some days; but that pretty much proves they don’t deliver/pick up mail on some days. My wife drove it over to the Post Office this morning.
I pay 99.9% of my bills online but I like getting the paper statements. I can also look them up. Some things have to go through the post office - my pharmacy, motor vehicle tags, some products I order for my pups, etc. I get a email notification daily of what mail is to be expected - do you have this?
Now just imagine this same organization in total control of your health care.....
Sign up for informed delivery.
You’ll know most of what is coming.
Ain’t perfect, but you can let them know if something isn’t delivered that they had their hands on.
I’m guessing their contract with Amazon prioritizes their deliveries over USPS.
I got Christmas cards in mid-January that had been postmarked weeks earlier. From one state away.
This has become more than a dubious attempt at mail delivery. The soi-disant postal service is now selling cards and other materials - thereby competing improperly with card shops and others which have to pay taxes and overhead. Now the USPS is even advertising on television (with our tax dollars).
Missing important mail like bills that used to be delivered on time up to the start of last year, are now often late, missing and costs people $$ penalties.
For that reason I am no longer using the USPS for anything important, thus reducing their revenue and increasing their debt further.
I hear of constant complaints around here. Our regular carrier is great, but there are always new carriers whom I expect are the source of the problem. The head guy at the P.O. here doesn’t give a damn and always has lame excuses. Fortunately, most of the mail I get goes straight to the garbage can. Unfortunately, I do expect something important in the mail sometimes.
I have the same problem here in LA some times it’s 3 day for a pick up.
LA’s main post office has become the biggest bottleneck in the country.
This has been an issue for _decades_.
Here is an old article:

This is their attempt to extort another $15 Billion from taxpayers for more overtime....
Few send personal letters anymore.
We used to see our rural mailman passed out drunk sometimes, parked. Another different area rural mail lady in the substation constantly attacked and yelled at customers. I complained but they said she was in the union so they could not do anything.
Thanks for info they should be sold to FedX and UPS they can get it right.
Someone local mailed a check to me at the same Post Office that handles our local deliveries. It was postmarked April 20. I received it this week, on June 15.
It took a month to get a first class birthday card 400 miles. My brother said he wanted to thank the carrier for walking all that way.
I’ll check that out, thanks.
